When I first joined the app I went 16 days sober and felt so good. I think I've relapsed 5 times since joining. I just want to get back to where I was an am having such a hard time.

Hi Katrina, have you tried any meetings, online or in person? For me, I need to attend and do mostly online but they totally help me. I got hooked up with an AA group but there are several other options.

I agree with TC, a program of some sort can help. For me it was AA, but there are several other groups out there. Most of us can not do it alone. We need the help of others who can relate and pass on the tools to keep on the sober path.

This reminds me of my story. I went the last three years knowing I had a problem with drinking and had short stints of abstinence from alcohol. I became a binge drinking alcoholic. It was only when I bottomed out, realized I was alcoholic and became willing to do anything to get and stay sober, did I find the path to healthy sobriety.

Hang in there darling! You’ve got this:hugs::sunglasses:

This app won't get and keep you sober. It's just a tool for support. Most need a program to truly recover from their illness. Simply quitting drinking is rarely sufficient. Good luck.

Don’t say “I want to get back to where I was". Start fresh! Start new! This is an entirely new way of life. If you keep wanting to go back to square one you will stick with the same habits.

Relapsing 5 times in 16 days is a pretty god sign more may be needed to teach you tools on how sobriety works. You ever though about rehab or plugging in a recovery program full time?

Don’t put so much focus on yesterday or tmrw. Just try your hardest to live in the present, and try your best not to drink this very moment. Sooner or later a string of moments will turn into a week, month, year, ect. Sometimes we do too much thinking and not enough doing. Keep yourself busy and make sure everyone around you is respectful of your choice to be sober.
