Was barley keeping my mind about the entire sober life., with the hope my husband was coming home, when all along he had no intentions of doing that. Now i really dont care about staying sober or not

Sobriety is much more than just simply not using or drinking I have found. I have learned a way of dealing with situations that I couldn’t even imagine myself surviving them let alone thriving through them. I have to always rely upon my higher power and remember that there is nothing that drinking or using wont make worse, it simply prolongs the pain and only leads to remorse. Hang in there, god has a plan and we can only pray for the knowledge of his will, and In the meantime have faith.

If you get sober for an external reason, as soon as that thing is removed, so too is your reason for staying sober. Stay clean and sober for yourself first. Your health, both mental and physical depend on it. Your presence in life has impact. Only you get to decide if you want that impact to be impaired or meaningful.

Heyy! Your sobriety was never really about him even if it felt that way, losing that hope is devastating and it makes sense that everything feels pointless right now, but you came here and said it out loud and that matters, don’t make a permanent decision from the worst moment of the pain, stay with us friend

Marleen, here are people that care about you❤️. Now it’s time to meet us half way and start caring for yourself! I know it’s difficult to get through this hard time, but it will get better if you get and stay sober. There’s a wonderful life full of love and purpose waiting for you.
I had to get sober for me. Not for her, not the courts, not my career or even my family.
Going to meetings daily, getting sponsored and doing the 12 steps is so much easier than going through life drinking and using.
