When your spouse buys lots of liquor and keeps it locked up so the alcoholic in the family (me) won’t drink it. I feel humiliated and resentful.
I have questions… why would you feel humiliated? It sounds like precautious to me. I have a friend in alanon who asked me to put locks on the wine fridge and liquor cabinet. His partner was thankful I did it. Anything to keep the demon at bay.
Are you in a place where you could be trusted to NOT drink it?
Was there an agreement to not have booze in the house? Is that a boundary set by you?
I don’t know if you are in a program or not, but if you’re in AA that’s a step 4 issue. I would probably do an inventory on the situation.
