Where/how do you decide what’s the best type of first aa meeting to attend? Or, just going to any meeting is the right answer?
Go to them all. Like go to a bunch of different ones. Some you will probably not care for and others you will love. Just take them in and find the ones you like. If you run into a bad one don’t let it deter you. I guarantee by far most are a gift. It doesn’t all come at once though. Don’t go to one and think you will have the miracle. Be patient. The sponge gets filled with drops of water. Stick around until the miracle happens. It’s not bull$hit; 90 in 90 is giving yourself the best possible chance of making it. I found the miracle and it’s better than you can imagine. I had to put the time in though.
PS- I can go to a meeting one week and be like meh and go to the same one a week later and be like inspired. I always seem to get what I need though.

Agree with Shawn. I took me a few weeks to get situated with my meetings. The first few I went to were just alright. Then I went to an AA clubhouse where they have meetings all day. I met a few guys who told me about some good meetings to try out. One or two guys I met would call me and meet me at the meetings to introduce me to some of the guys. Just be willing to go and try for 90 days. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain. Let us know how it goes
