Yesterday I volunteered at the Engage/BeGenerous Event for 9 hours. It was great introducing our company to so many people and assisting some with making appointments to be seen for MAT and SU Treatment! I am grateful for the band that provided such uplifting Christian music, watching the baptisms, and experiencing my first PizzaTater Bowl. The iced coffee stand was phenomenally prepared with uniquely named coffees! I am grateful the weather cleared from heavy thunderstorms to overcast weather
that was not scorching hot. I am grateful for one of my supervisors who literally carried a heavy load to the vehicle after the event as my back literally gave out and put my rearend on the curb.
I am so grateful for a really good night of rest and a sober one to boot.
I am oh so very grateful that Lil Man and Lucy were so patient for their very late dinner as they didn't fuss while I showered and rested a bit before feeding them. I am also oh so very grateful for their lack of fussing overnight. Lil Man had MOVED one of the favored beds to the FRONT of the sitting bench at the foot of my bed; this blocks Lucy from being able to get in the bed!!! He is usually using this particular bed and allows him to be ugly to her as it prevents her from getting up with me on her own. When I say I love him and adore him, I mean that. However, I do know what a spoiled Lil Man he truly is and I know these actions are purely selfish acts on his part....gotta love them through it sometimes. I am grateful for those who loved me through my darkest days of addiction. I am truly grateful for those who love me in sobriety. I wish it was my girls, but it is not. Not today anyways.
I am grateful for the purpose and meaning of the Engage community. I look forward to being more connected and involved with these types of organizations.
I am only a few days away from honoring and celebrating my 2 years sober date and I am so excited
!!!
Grateful. Sober. Strong, today!
