Who here suffers from Borderline Personality Disorder? It has been a factor into my addiction, and I use alcohol or any substance to self medicate
Well, not sure what this entails. But I do know that getting involved with meetings helps get outside yourself and brings sober people who care into your life. Doing addiction alone is a dead end street. Good luck
I know this but I feel insane most of the time from the way my brain works
We all do. Why we’re addicts. Use to stop that thing from haunting us. Thing is, gotta learn to live with it.
I know
I just need a community. Most aa meetings near me are people mandated, r younger kids who don't care. It's so impersonal

Hi Amanda, I’m not sure how I missed this when you originally posted! I have bipolar disorder and used to self-medicate also. I have learned that when I treat my bipolar (with meds and other things like meditation), it’s easier to stay sober. And when I stay sober my bipolar is more stable and I’m able to handle the episode easier. It was doubly difficult my first year of sobriety because every time I went into an episode the draw to drink was so strong, but I made it through with support. You can do this, and I promise it will be totally worth it. I’m into my fourth year of sobriety and I wouldn’t trade my sobriety for anything.
I'm mostly struggling with my nervous system on overload from it, so I'm in pain 100% of the time and I want to drink
I tried neuropathy and it didn't help much!
