Why are people relapsing?

Are we not taking recovery seriously?

Hi Michael. I've seen many of your thought provoking posts and I like reading them. This question you pose is interesting because in my view and my experience I got sober and entered recovery because I wanted it more than the bottle. We can't be forced, we have to want it in our soul. A deep and potent need to finally find peace. I'm almost 7 years in and I still feel this way to my core. So much so that I have never had a relapse in this time. I'm extraordinarily proud of that. I have a long story but a simple recovery story. Have a wonderful day!

Often times relapse is a part of recovery. Unfortunately

@stephanie359455 I as well in 37 years of sobriety have never relapsed. I get it some people get it while others don't and still do Stoooooopid things that take them down that road. While others realize that they are allergic to alcohol.

Yes, it's part of the recovery process and that's the sad part.

My biggest prayer is that those who are struggling find what you and I as well as countless others have found.... That is hope.
