Why did you stop drinking? It caused me to lose

Why did you stop drinking? It caused me to lose everything and changed me into someone I wasn't.

Drinking made it so hard for me to be honest with myself and it made me so angry sometimes!

It had the same affect on me and I didn't like it anymore.

The pain is left me with was something I've definitely never experienced before. I felt true grief for the first time..

When I drank I always drank until I was wasted. It ruined relationships, caused weight gain & kept me in a cycle of depression. I became exhausted by the guilt & shame. I was tired of living my life like I hated myself. Since breaking free from the alcohol bondage I have smiled every morning. My joy is back & I love living every moment of everyday (even the tough ones).

I agree with you. My worst days are nothing compared to my drinking days. Going to bed sober and waking up guilt free is the best.

I was super sick all the time and my life was completely unmanageable and chaotic and I knew it was going to kill me if I didn’t stop

Ruining my marriage…. OVI…. Fell down steps a few times. Always feeling bad and guilty. So may other things too. I stopped for 8 moths last year but then I thought I could handle it and I clearly can’t.

I lost interest in all the things I used to enjoy. All the hangovers my kidneys screaming and beer belly plus many other reasons

Spent 13 yrs running away from myself with drugs/alcohol. Finally got tired of it and needed to get myself back

I stop drinking and drugging because of a traumatic experience,it's very unfortunate what happened because I lost someone I love. I thank God that today I am sober, and will continue to make progress in my recovery because I don't want the experience I had to be in vain. I feel that's the least I can do to.

I stopped drinking because I was hurting my family, losing things one by one, I felt like I had to make a big step and bite the hard part and suffer through! I have seen so many positive changes since! It was one morning when I didn’t think I could be anymore down and I got a notification from Loosid! I decided to open it and have not felt better since! I am thankful for each minute without a drink!

Tired of waking up .....TO ME!!!

I had an OD or something. It wasn't a particularly heavy drinking day. Had a sip, stood up, and my world went sideways (that's literally what it looked like). I texted a friend and she got in touch with my son. Both called 9-1-1 and I got an ambulance ride. Well, after spending exactly one week in the hospital due to DTs, I had to stop. Was the scariest week of my life, and I don't remember much of it.

Multiple sexual assaults that happened when I was under the influence of alcohol. I still blame myself.

I realized that all I wanted is to drink. It was a real eye opener.

My life was unmanageable, I was suicidal. Alcohol made me a different person. Restraining order. I basically just caused myself so much pain, guilt and remorse. Plus anxiety and depression.
At first it was to get all my stuff back. I’m glad I quit cause I have the stuff I need sober.

I felt a huge green monster ridding me of any happiness I had left which wasn't much at all. Let alone while I was out there getting drunk and high I just wanted to kill myself with cocaine and get to heaven... When that big green monster came at me I called up a friend and met the first day I stayed clean and sober... My friend told me theres a na meeting going around the corner in 20 minutes.... I went to my first n a meeting and I said I THINK I AM A DRUG ADDICT AND AN ALCOHIC and I stayed in the rooms since then and that date was November 18, 1993. .... Thank you God...

Because my life depended on it. I could really feel in my gut that i wouldnt live too much longer if i kept using and with that i know and feel that if i go back to using im a dead man.

I stopped drinking because in the bottom of every bottle is a bag. I couldn't deal with how I felt and what I was thinking. I woke up every day wanting to die.
