LoI know its
Happy Thanksgiving to you!!
Angela, I read your post and it immediately struck a chord with me! This comment section sure is a wild ride lol and Iām sorry you got so much negativity for this. I donāt know your story, nor have I seen your other posts or profile (p.s. post whatever pic you want mama!), I can only share why your comment resonated with me. So much of my self worth through my drinking years was wrapped up in what men thought of me. I took pride in being the fun, funny, cool, smart, sexy girl who could hang with the boys.. in college, in my restaurant days, in my early career, through to my growing career in tech where the boys are now VPās and Chief whatever Officers.. itās always been the same story and deep down I did not feel that I was worthy of getting a manās full devotion and committed love. While hanging and drinking with the guys at work dinners and parties, I got attention from some engaged and married men and I leaned into it because I needed the validation and I thought that was all I deserved.. a piece of someone but never the full someone. The last one that really broke me before I got sober was an engaged man who had been my boss and mentor and friend.. he told me he had feelings for me (was definitely still getting married tho) and when I got mad this was happening to me AGAIN he said, āwell when youāre fun and funny and cool and smart and sexy then men will want you so what do you expect?ā He said it like it was MY fault. These amazing qualities of mine were somehow faults and were going to always get me entangled in messy things. I was so angry and so done. I had to do a very difficult thing which was to look at myself with love and pride and acceptance because I AM all those great things. And at the same time I had to take a very hard look at how I set boundaries and how far I let certain conversations and energies go. He obviously felt comfortable enough to tell me he wanted me because something about my energy told him he had a shot. A shot at getting a piece of me while keeping his perfect life plan in place. Iām sure you, Angela, are also fun and funny and cool and smart and sexy, and you should be proud of that. Men will always want a piece of you, and I know how infuriating it is when itās married men, but you have the strength to set your boundaries and that is a powerful thing. Rock your bikini bod wherever you want sis and remember your own worth and your own power.

You hit the nail on the head! Your story is powerful and I have similar ones. You said it best, own your power! This is the type of response I was looking for. Thank you Queen! <3
I see you girl! Stay strong
Because thereās a lot of people in recovery who are not drinking but doing the same sick stuff they did on the streetļæ¼ and if youāre going to work a program you need to work the whole program
