It happens both ways. I definitely feel that it’s a good vetting question. I’m not going to be okay with someone not accepting an alternative venue or activity.

Wait no! This is all great advice except the hiking trails part. Very dangerous to be alone in the woods with a guy u probably met online and don’t know well

Just change it Good Will Hunting style and say something like "or we can just hang out and eat a bunch of caramels. Its just as arbitrary and shouldn't matter as long as we hang out". If someone needs "liquid courage" to speak freely and be themselves, I wouldn't want to date them anyway!

My response to let’s meet for drinks is sure let’s grab coffee/tea…if someone needs to meet me at a bar, I probably don’t need to meet that person
