I met a guy who was around at the beginning of NA in Los Angeles. He told me that when NA first started, it was illegal to meet in groups because of gang laws. That there would be a random phone call for the meeting, and they would hug because no one knew if they would ever see each other again. I thought that the hugging had something to do with showing love. It's a beautiful story.
