I am so inspired by my past posts, and the journey that I captured there.
Yesterday I worked with my therapist on bringing a voice to emotions that I am inclined to stifle: anger, resentment, regret.
Awareness is the first step in transformation.
Expression is second.
I learned a process of expressing buried emotions by vocalizing and tethering a physicality to the emotion. Imagine punching a punching bag and shouting about something you are angry about. You can exorcise the angst of the anger by expressing it physically. In the afterglow of the physical expression you can arrive at a clarity of direction that the anger is signaling.
Emotions are messengers that point us to areas that need attention.
