I would suggest medical detox if you can, having done both a medical detox and a home detox , medical is always better . But when i hunkered down at home i got vitamin b supplements, magnesium supplements, lots of water & coconut water , had someone check on me every few hours , good luck <3

Exercise is key but be safe. If the detox is bad enough you must get medical intervention. Sweats, shakes (DT’s), nausea and vomiting, rapid pulse and high blood pressure, also cognitive issues… hallucinations… if any of these get to be even “moderate” it can be the start of a medical emergency. If it’s just cravings… that’s a different thing. The medical intervention is simply medications and monitoring. Clonidine is given a lot to curb many of these symptoms. Maybe contact your physician, ask for this medication or whatever is suggested, as a safeguard to prevent anything more serious. Most Docs are thrilled to give scripts for these things because it signals your willingness to quit.

Medical Assistance is there for exactly this reason. Get yourself into a safe, supportive, and sober environment. Invest some time, and take all the help you can. Remember that detox is the shortest step in your journey, and we are all on that journey with you.

I went to the hospital for withdrawal last Tuesday. my family made that decision for me I didn’t want to go but I’m so glad I agree to go!! And I got my vivitrol shot before I left. Please careful. I will pray for you to get better.:pray:t5::pray:t5:

Lots of water, lots of walks (unless you can physically do more). The fresh air is a big help.
Mix in some sugary drinks w water. Just for rise in blood sugar levels and a break from water.

Do u have Medicaid or insurance of any kind? I’d look into telehealth

Fortunately, I do have insurance, and I have a therapist. Thank you. I’m actually feeling better.

Good!!

Multivitamin, glutathione supplement may help for detox.

Your doctor can prescribe you a med that helps with the withdrawal symptoms. I am on it now .. it helps assist your body until you are able to move past them

Exercise and keeping my head occupied with busy work and mind games like word search puzzles helped. Relaxing tea, calm mg drink, lots of showers for the sweats, and the epsom salt baths helped a lot too.

I’m not trying to be rude, but for me when I think of my withdrawal I remember how bad they are and now I don’t have to worry about one knowing that I don’t pick up a drink. Also I took gabapentin for detox. A fan for the sweats and plenty of blankets for warmth and for changing out when you sweat out the other ones! I wish you faith you will be alright!

Multivitamins

I hated myself so much that I saw my detox as a punishment for my behavior. I felt like I deserved it.

I did it at home with nothing. I slept on the 4th night. It was horrible but I remember it vividly and I have used those memories many times as a reminder of where the first drink will eventually end up.

Possibly a minority opinion here, but don’t use drugs to get off a drug.
