Withdrawal

I am coming up on 4 years alcohol-free and 3 months from my medications (adderall & quetiapine)

I've been reading about the possible witdrawal symptoms of alcohol and the medications I was taking but most sources tell me they are gone within several days to weeks after usage.

However, i am experiencing many of the withdrawal symptoms and its years / months later.

The first year sober from alcohol I had none at all. And my medication withdrawal symptoms were gone within 2 weeks. Now i am having them again...

Does anyone have any knowledge on this or experience the same thing?

Thanks for sharing this. I'm not a doctor or anything, but I can relate a bit. I’ve heard of something called PAWS (Post-Acute Withdrawal Syndrome) where symptoms randomly come back even months or years later, especially after quitting things like Adderall, quetiapine, or alcohol. It messes with your mood, sleep, energy, all that.

It’s wild because sometimes everything feels fine for a while, and then out of nowhere, the old symptoms creep back in. Stress, lack of sleep, or just life stuff can trigger it too. Might be worth talking to a doctor to be safe, but you’re definitely not the only one going through this.

You’re doing great staying off everything, that’s huge.

I have almost 26 years clean and sober and i still get the withdraw symptoms. They wîll always affect you, the difference is what you do about it ,A give in or B not give in and talk about it and get past it
