Withdrawal

I'm now 8 days sober, and I'm getting random sweats any recommendations/suggestions? How long did they last for you? Before my last relapse i never had night sweats but this time I'm waking up soaked. My Dr. says I just need to ride it out

Hey brother sometimes it’s best to go to treatment. It hurts as heck but start programming and get involved with meetings.

Alcohol? Or any other stuff?

I'm in a program already and attend about 2 meetings daily.

Just alcohol

Your body is dealing with withdrawals. Drink plenty of water. Orange juice and fruit juice can help too. If you feel really bad seek professional help. The sweats will pass. The first 30 days are a lot of physical consequences. Hang in there!

Mine lasted 1-2 months

It could last a while, but it might not. If you’ve already been 8 days, it may not be much longer. The sweats and shakes, for me, rarely lasted longer than 10 days. But it’s different for everyone. Have hope and continue. You’re out of the seizure window and the worst is over.

Only suggestion is to just keep the plug in the jug and it will get better.

Hey. Yes when I first stopped I would sweat lots and shake uncontrollably. I also went into a vicious withdrawal from eating 40 clonazepam so all these symptoms were brutal for months. Took almost a year to even feel remotely normal. Just hang on. It will get better.

We all know that withdrawals are absolutely terrible. I should know!! But weather the storm. It’ll be worth it…. Trust me!!

Anything that holds your sobriety back alcohol and drugs

That’s normal. It gets less but it could come and go for months. Go to the steam room, sauna, drink lots of water, take fiber pills. Your body is detoxing. The steam room will really sweat out.
