Woke up to snow usually in the past I would be so happy and excited but I don't feel the joy in things as I used to I know it will take time but I'm tierd of being down all the time any suggestions for depression
Hey Scott! Weather is certainly a trigger for me. I went to school up in Syracuse NY for 3 years. Those long winters with the gray skies and frigid temperatures were brutal. Brittnye might be on to something. Also, you can get a sun lamp for home/office. My son used one while he was in college, and he swore it helped. I’m from South Florida, and just looking at that pic makes me cringe. More importantly, you got 5 days sober, and you are reaching out to connect! Hope your mood changes for the better soon
Ah Scott! I can say that your image brought me joy, how I miss the snow. As it relates to depression, the city I live in is overcast most of the winter and I have SADD, so a couple years ago I got a SADD lamp and it made a HUGE difference. Also, if you have some time and can handle a laugh, check out Rob Bell’s An Introduction to Joy on YouTube. It is fantastic. I watch it every few months right now to keep me on track in noticing instances of joy in everyday moments. Pulling yourself out of depression is no joke, it takes a bunch of tiny steps in the right direction.
