Working in the alcohol industry

Heading down south for meetings and feeling a bit anxious. This will be the first time I’ve been sober around the team since I’ve started. My worry is judgment, feeling left out and navigating a new way of life.

Impossible to not have feelings like or similar to. Chin up and be proud.

That’s a tough spot. I found if you have confidence and live by your convictions it is easier to navigate those types of situations. Own your sobriety and be proud of what you have accomplished! Those that mine don’t matter and those that matter don’t mind. I sold craft beer for years, so I know there is also mixers that are NA you can focus on for mocktails. Change the focus and you will do good!

It's nobodies business why you choose not to drink. And you can always just tell them you're allergic. Lol.

I also work in the industry. So I understand. I just started a new job a couple weeks ago and cut out alcohol at the same time. I just told my coworkers I don’t like to drink and they don’t really bother me. Let me know if you need anything !

Just tell them it’s against YOUR
Religion - it’s none of their business what religion it is it’s yours

Just say that the last couple of times you have a drink you didn’t like the way you felt afterwards. It stops all the questions for me.
