Just the brain rewiring itself. Just dreams. Not reality.

Same! I wake up sweaty, anxious and in a panic, thinking i had relapsed and that feeling of dread , but it’s not reality ! I hope to keep it that way

Thankfully I’ve never had one. I haven’t remembered a dream in decades. Probably due to my abuse, but still happy that’s one thing I avoid.

Hang in there, it sucks but you’ve got this.

Yeah dope dreams are the worst
I had em all the time when I first got clean and they scared me cause I thought I'd relapsed and then I didn't have any for a long time but I still get em every now and then but they don't scare me anymore I'm pretty much a different person. It gets better!!!

Exactly how it makes me feel also! Takes me awhile to shake it too.

I have 2 yrs clean. I haven’t had one in a very long time. Totally shook me up this morning.

Yes they always leave me a little shaky. Then I get moving and feeling good knowing that is proof I'm sober.

Very good point.

Yeah I had about 6 months without them and then had one after a movie I watched, it made me appreciate being clean that much more that's how I look at it.

Me too because I wake up and feel horrible and guilty.

They’re so weird. I have a reoccurring one that there’s this bar that I’ve been secretly drinking at throughout all of my sobriety. It pops up every now and then. I sometimes get confused as the night goes on if I haven’t woken up.
The silver lining is that I always wake up sober

I hate them too, I’ve had them and at times it’ll take all day to shake the feeling, on rare occasions it lingers more than a day. I generally don’t remember dreams, especially don’t have lingering affects from them unless it’s a using dream. :grimacing:

Scary how REAL they seem.

Most definitely! The wave of relief is just as intense.

Waking up knowing it was a dream makes it seem like a dream. If that makes sense
