You can quit, just realize and remember that it doesn't do anything you want it to for you. It can be easy to forget, but easier to remember in terms of happiness.

I’m having a hard time too! I was 3 days sober & I’ve been drinking tonight makes me sad because I really thought I would be able to do it but we can’t give up!! Alcohol has been the hardest thing I’ve had to quit. Heroin & meth!? Was nothing & I did that cold turkey but this withdrawal is different

Try to start a new hobby. Plan put your evenings with a show or movie and a nice dinner.

I gave up alcohol 14 years ago and I quit using fentayl and meth 6 months ago.I too know how hard this is for you Arabella but it can be done. Have you tried treatment and if so then maybe you might try it again. I was in treatment 14 times in 43 years and trust me when I say you don't have to go down a road like I did. When I went to treatment this last time I was so desperate because I was going to die if I didn't. I got a sponsor and worked the 12 step program more than I ever had before.I was honest and willing, keeping an open mind to everything I was being taught. Its very hard to do and we all get that. If you truly want to quit have faith and believe that there is actually something that will make it possible for you.I couldn't do it alone either and I had to surrender. You can do this if you really want to one day at a time.I believe in you and hope you get some help like I did. My life is so much better now and I've read the big book of a and no and the promises do come true.Good luck ,you can do this and you don't have to do it alone.

Go to a different meeting Sara. I've been in AA for years. Most of the people are not drinking. That's why it is so successful. That's where we help each other to stay sober. Go expecting to stay sober. If you expect it not to help, it probably won't. :pray:
