Cheating on who?

I think everyone’s recovery is different. I have had stretches of sobriety while smoking weed; but I always end up drinking again. This go around, I’m not using any weed just to see if my sobriety sticks better that way. Good luck, no judgement and message me anytime

Ahhh, a drug is a drug. Alcohol, a drug. Weed, a drug. Anything that removes you from reality, a drug. That’s just me. To each their own.

Let me ask a question in response to your question. Why are you self medicating? We got sober to face life on life's terms. That said if you use weed to escape life, then are you truly sober?

my therapist prescribed me bupropion for mayor depression.. I was all my life undiagnosed because never wanted to accept or see the truth. But now everything makes sense, and it seems it runs in the family. but i honestly prefer to smoke weed because if i have to choose i prefer something natural.

Stopped drinking was so hard. I used to drink everytime for every reason, if i was happy that deserved a 6 pack! if i got mad with my employees i went down to the liquor storage room and drank almost the whole half of a bourbon bottle and then came back to work happy like nothing happened.. if i was very sad that also deserved a drink but a bigger bottle this time. maybe you guys don’t think i’m in progresss because i still amoke weed but for me i’m getting to that better version of myself. smoking weed is like medicine i don’t use it to scape reality just to help a little with the quemical unbalance in my brain.

Weed is not a treatment for depression. It makes it worse. Marijuana makes the highs and lows more frequent and much more extreme. It also contributes to anxiety because it is addictive and withdrawals aren't a joke.

I was on bupropion. It doesn’t get you high.

I agree with whoever said that addiction and recovery is individual to each of us. Everyone needs to do what is right for them and if weed has been prescribed as a medication, there’s a reason for that. I myself use weed on a daily basis. Personally, I don’t care what anybody thinks. Until someone is in my shoes they have absolutely no idea what it is like to live with neurologic pain that feels like a bolt of electricity shooting up and down your leg all day every day. So if weed helps you, use it. I quit smoking using the patch. It’s still Nicotine which is the addictive compound in cigarettes Only you can decide what is right for you.

I am neutral on this subject. But am familiar with who and what conditions are prescribed medical marijuana. It is prescribed for both anxiety and depression and for pain. And for alcoholics and addicts that are affected with the above.

Licensed counselor with masters degree. I have seen it work with alcoholics and addicts. For pain, many cannot take ibuprofen due to high BP and definitely not looking for opioids. So this is an alternative. These people are genuinely in pain and not using as an escape from life. I have witnessed this work with not a one returning to active addiction, drinking or drugs. As for anxiety and depression, I am on the fence. I would exhaust all other prescription meds before prescribing MJ.

Clarify, I am not a doctor so I cannot prescribe. Clients and friend testaments. And I do not use it. I am a drinker. No drugs. But if ever in pain, I would use MJ before a narcotic. I know I would be off to the races with that in a millisecond. My two cents. Respect all opinions. Happy hump day to all!

Only urself

I agree weed is often better than a narcotic, however many practitioners who prescribe weed are not taking the current data into account. Much of the research done showing weeds medicinal properties were done before the creation of today's designer strains. Currently research shows most of Marijuana's medicinal effects can be obtained with CBD and at most a 6% content of THC with most Marijuana extracts contain 50-90%

Lol at the sobriety purists here. Personally THC has helped me conquer a severe alcohol abuse disorder. It has helped me with digestive issues as well as introspection. The key is to be mindful of why you are you using it, when you are using it and in what quantities. I believe the hardline attitudes here are a driving factor in why people relapse and struggle to socially integrate. If weed is causing disturbances in your life, then perhaps abstain. “The difference between medicine and poison is in the dose.”

I can say from personal experience that CBD does absolutely nothing for real pain. Nothing. I had a broken jaw. Was given a narcotic prescription which I did not fill. Doctor recommended CBD. I tried it, no THC. Absolutely no relief. I stuck with ibuprofen. Maybe low level pain. Not even sure about that. Medical MJ is an alternative for those with chronic pain or could be for short term severe pain vs a narcotic. Again these folks are not looking for an escape. Purely a solution to pain. I am not in anyway questioning your research. I am going on personal experience and first hand experience with clients and friends. The highest THC in an edible or bud I have ever seen was 22%. And most folks choose the edible. No alcoholic or addict really wants to smoke in my experience anyway. Thank you for sharing that info. Will look into it when I get a free second. Very interesting. Take good care!

im california sober too but i want to stop eventually because ive relapsed a couple times while still using marijuana
