Vivitrol or Neltrexone help immensely with cravings! I get the injections and they are 100% covered by insurance. I also stay busy and have a nightly routine of a bubble bath. It helps. Ironically the feeling I was chasing of being calm and content…I only actually have sober. That helps me keep going.

You’re welcome you got this!
I know it’s tough I get the same craving late alsoI sent the YouTube where I found the idea

The only thing is some of these meds have side effects. L- glutimine is pretty safe and over the counter. I’m not saying don’t try it though. I haven’t

I have no side effects. It’s a very safe medication.

Alright I’m just always skeptical thanks for the info

Yes ! That is so true, whenever I’m sober. What I was trying to chase like peace and a clear head I only experience when I am. So I’m going to try and keep that in mind

You can do it!! I’m 39 days sober and finally feel free from the cravings and obsession. It does eventually ease up.

Routine is honestly the most helpful thing for me! Especially the beginning of the day & the end of the day.

I was in a rehab for over 3 months, they offered the shot but I decided not to get it. They went over reframing techniques, breathing exercises, meditation, sober support network.
AA meetings nightly. Remember you can't build a staircase from the top down, wake up every morning and remind yourself "I stayed sober yesterday, let's see if I can do it again today"! You got this

I second this! Especially since being alone is a trigger for my drinking and I'm typically by myself in the mornings and evenings. A morning and evening routine has really helped me and it's a nice way to start and end my day feeling grounded.

BTW I celebrate my 8th month sober on 9/26, I never thought I could do it after 40 years of drinking! And I was definitely a lonely drinker didn't really like the bar scene.
