I assume you’re looking for something a little academic or philosophical than a million little pieces, but that book is great.

I have a ton of different ones what are you looking for specifically?

The alcohol experiment by Annie Grace is a good 30 day walk to retrain your subconscious mind.

Unexpected joy of being sober and love warrior are two of my favs

Blackout is good. Finding Ultra. Do you listen to podcasts? If so there are some awesome ones. And of course the audio stories on this app.

I liked a book called Emotional Sobriety by Tian Dayton PhD. It's not particularly all about substance abuse but it has really helped with handling negative emotions that come with getting sober and throughout sobriety.
Also, Wishful Drinking by Carrie Fisher.
And I suggest looking up Doctor Gabor Matè on YouTube

So true! They’re the best you’re going to get as far as I am concerned.

I think the big book of AA and the 12 and 12 are 2 fantastic reads!

They were written by alcoholics for alcoholics. The principles can be applied to drug addiction also. Alcohol is a drug.

Russell Brand’s book is good. But definitely read the Big Book over and over and over. Depending on where you are in your recovery you’ll get a different perspective every time.

What is it you’re recovering from?
There’s the Big Book AA.
NA.
Drop the Rock on steps 6 and 7.
And recently I found out about
“A Spiritual Principle of Narcotics Anonymous”
There’s also “You Can Heal Your Life” which isn’t associated with either AA or NA, but she talks about the miracle of forgiving.

I’m reading Breathing Under Water, it’s a unique perspective but a great read!

Andrew Huberman’s podcast if you’re interested in the science behind addiction and the brain. AA n NA are great but I have to understand the”why.” If you’re like me you’ll love it. There are more than just one way to get sober. Find your path.
