Contemplating relapsing.. I'm really trying to stay strong.. just feel like nothing matters and everything is bullshit so why not just feel numb..

I’m sorry you’re in so much pain. You’re very brave for being vulnerable. Please keep posting and if there are people you can call please do that too. Are you in a recovery community besides this one?

If you are ok sharing. Did something happen to cause this feeling or is it just life being life? It’s amazing that you are recognizing you want to relapse and are reaching out. That takes a lot of strength!

Hang in there Lia. These feelings are temporary and they will pass! Early sobriety is like a rollercoaster. The mood swings are intense. One moment we are so grateful, and then suddenly it’s all dark and lonely. Just as that grateful and blessed feeling has passed, so will these current feelings of despair. Serenity prayer, meetings, and taking a long walk are tools that help me get out of a funk. Feel better :peace_symbol:

You can do this Lia, take it a moment at a time, set a goal for the hour, then the next hour. This feeling, like all feelings will pass. You have a strong support system here rooting for you to stay true to yourself. Sending you a hug.

That's the disease talking. Good ol Slick likes to kick us when we're down. Call your sponsor or get to a meeting.

Thanks for ur kindness and support. I don't have anyone I can call, no friends or family to lean on. And no other community other than this one, but I am working on building more support.

It's my family. They make me feel unloved and unwanted. Nothing I can do to change it. Just gotta try to find where I belong. And thanks, I'm trying to be strong and not give in. So far I haven't.

Thank u, yeah I went for a walk, talked to my therapist, journaled, and sang my heart out for a bit, even cried and just let the emotions be as they were. It sucked and still does cause it's a deep wound that will likely always be there, but nothing I can do but try to make new connections. Thanks for your support!

I totally agree it's the disease, not me. Thanks for ur support!

It’s a choice...stay in the solution...call your sponsor and get to a morning meeting...feel your feelings...but don’t trust them...

You need to get out of your own way. People can only make you feel how you let them make you feel. It’s all inside your head. Are you going to meetings and building a sober network? If that’s not your thing, try to find a therapist to talk to.

Hope you didn’t use. Every time I feel like using and don’t, I feel on top of the world. Most people don’t even know I have feelings like that in my personal life.
