Day 1 in progress!!!!
Really struggling with the detox process. I ache and am so tired/anxious. I want to be sober so badly and can not figure out why I keep drinking. Why I keep destroying my body. Hurting my kids. I need help!
Help is there for you. What program are you involved with? Be carful with detoxing on your own! Stay hydrated and make sure to eat something. If it gets really bad get to an ER. Have you thought about rehab? There are plenty of avenues available for you. Good luck! You can do it.
You can do it
God loves you and wants you to live and be sober
Thank you so much! I’m not in a program currently. But I know I need something. Can’t do it alone, I’ve proven that.
Help is available you just have to ask for it! Check out some meetings in your area and just go!
"God" may or may not love you, but your kids DEFINITELY love and need you. That is a tangible reason to keep going.
Get in a program. Go to meetings. Stay busy.
As bad as it sounds that you proven to yourself that you can’t do it alone, it’s also opens up the door for you to seek help, and be open to other options that maybe you rejected before. Addiction has a way of beating us down to the point of surrender. In 12 step programs we call this admission step 1. I’m a fan of AA, but there are other programs of recovery as well. May you find the strength and willingness to get involved with one of them

Help is there. Join a meeting any meeting.
I couldn’t stop on my own. I ended up at ER and detox unit with medication. As much as I tried to stop couldn’t get past an hour. Now I just celebrated 20 months. Please be careful and go to ER if you need to. They know what to do. You need to do it for yourself and you children will love you for it.

We have all tried the white knuckling way and it doesn’t work for most people. I would recommend a program for sure. The two apps I would suggest getting are “in the rooms” and “meeting guide” both are free and have the location and times of meetings close to you. Good luck!
Thank you so much for those app recommendations! I appreciate it.
Welcome! I know the struggle. Day one through three is the worst! It gets better! It has taken me two weeks to get over the hump. Stay connected. Make connections. In your corner! Reach out! We have you!
Thank you Cathy
Sending u strength and hope my dear . Here’s the AA inter-group website which literally has thousands of meetings everyday you can choose from . Scroll down just a little and click “browse the OIAA meeting directory”
When I first became sober I found so many answers to my questions /problems by going to meetings and listening to other ppl share their experiences, strength and struggles . It truly amazed me how so many different ppl of every single type of walk of life shared the same experiences and the same struggles ..it also amazed me how each and every one of them shared the same solution they took in order to get and stay sober. And on the flip side …those who relapsed all had the same reasons as to what lead them back to a drink .
Meetings lead me to be intrigued by the Big Book which then lead me to get a sponsor and I’ve never looked back. The big book really is where the solution lies and a good sponsor will guide u and help u to understand the big book..and help you to understand yourself and the chaos that goes on in our alcoholic brains. but try out some meetings first to get ur feet wet..one step and one day at a time..ya just gotta be open and willing
I’ve got some Amazing meeting recommendations if you’d like some !! Message me and I’ll give ya my personal favs !
Wow! Thank you so much for taking the time to say that. I will message for your recommendations.
I was sober 5 years in AA but relapsed for 5 after. I just started going back to AA just on zoom and it’s been a big help getting thru the long days. That and never wanting to detox again! 22 days. Hang in there!!
Hang in there. Get through this initial physical part then work on your mindset
Call the advice nurse? Delirium tremens, also known as DT’s is deadly. However, it’s treatable with medical treatment. Usually happens 2-5 days after one stops drinking.
May need to tapper off…
I’m not a doctor. Seek medical treatment…
Yeah! Please get help. Your vitals need to be monitored. You might not realize that your blood pressure might be through the roof, its a silent killer.
