Day 5, still hurting. Still can’t eat. Just someone please

Day 5, still hurting. Still can’t eat. Just someone please tell me it gets better. That my body won’t hurt forever.

On a positive note…I just flushed what I had stashed away. I don’t know how I got through 5 days without touching it, maybe I just had to know it was there. Now I feel naked. I know that sounds weird.

It gets better. I made it 4 months. And slipped up for a week. Coming up on 30 days. Hang in there

It does get better! Detoxing SUCKS! No argument gonna come from me on that. Keep hydrated! Make sure you eat. Go to meetings, even if you don’t want to. Your body has to flush all the poison out of your system. That’s going to take time. If it gets really bad go to the hospital! It can be dangerous to detox on your own. Soon enough you will feel relief. You got this and great job on flushing the stash! That’s a fantastic step to take!

It’s hard. But it only gets harder . Go through this tunnel and you will never have this withdrawal period again.
It’s hard , so do it hard and be done with it.
I was sick of feeling sick and being in trouble. That was my motivation…

You will feel better. Your brain has to reconfigure its dopamine receptor machinery. That takes time. Eat well, sleep, exercise.

I kno exactly how your feeling but just like every one on here has commented and said IT WILL GET BETTER you really really have to push yourself through the hard part which is now. Once you get over this part it will be like normal to be sober you’ll feel good you’ll have energy again and you won’t feel a need to get high . It doesn’t happen fast or easy though . Don’t stop you can push yourself through this !!

Somebody once asked me when does it get better....I replied "every single day is just a little better no matter how minute the progress is, it is still progress and one more day we made it through sober" and it's true. Every single day that I remain sober is just a hair better and there will come a time that we put a few days together amd can look back recognizing the growth. Just don't pick up that first one....no matter what.

Definitely gets better. Boost up on b vitamins and stay hydrated. Get to some meetings to occupy time and to be in a positive environment

Doesn't sound weird at all. I definitely felt vulnerable / naked when I first started trying to stay sober.

John, ugh I do not! Wish to god I did these last few days, but the anxiety is easing up some.

Thank you all so much for all the encouragement. And for the tips! I truly truly appreciate it.

I got a therapist to call a nurse practitioner/doctor to get me some Librium for anxiety, Trazadone for sleep and anti nausea medicine so I could eat.
It wouldn’t hurt.

It does get better but takes time. I was on detox meds so that made it a little easier. Eating also took time to come back because I never ate only drank. Don’t give up fight fight One Day At A Time, sometimes a minute at a time. You can do this. :pray:t3:
