Dealing with some anger issues
I have “anger addiction” and can relate. Glad you’re sharing!
It’s so bad I’m scared
Right now I’m getting a “high” from FB News and replying to comments! I’m putting down the phone!

FB is a rabbit hole.
Not so simple
This app is not made for people to be nasty to each other is supposed to have compassion
Sorry you felt that way. The app is about helping others with honest feedback. No offense.
Friend request me! I’ll give you my number!
It just helps to talk it out so call me!
I journal (try with your opposite hand-supposed to activate the child in you), I say the Serenity Prayer over and over as a meditation, I call someone and ask them just to listen, I go for a walk, I scream, I sob ugly snotty cries,….
You’re stuck in a “ruminating thought pattern” that you need to get out of as well.
Every time that thought/trigger comes into your mind, I say, “ Cancel! Cancel!”
I find something that brings me joy.
Also: HALT: Hungry, Angry, Lonely, Tired: if I am any one of these things, I’m a volcano!
What’s your self-care like these days??
Hi Jamie. I also had anger issues and still do. Do you have a therapist or doctor you can talk to?
Sorry!! Jaime
I wore my anger as a suit of armor for years. I needed to get professional help and meds to calm my mind. I hope you can get past whatever is draining your happiness.
Gratitude lists are a great way to replace anger
I have found that working a 4th step on why I'm feeling angry helps me spot what's making me angry. A few days ago I was having anger, frustration and irritability due to a family member that is actively using, yet continuing to ask me for money for cigs and gas and not respecting my boundaries. When I told them no, I felt conflicted because I wanted to help but any help in that particular matter would have only enabled them. Of course I didn't take my anger out on them. I took it out on myself by having resentful thoughts and not accepting the disease of addiction for what it is for a few hours. So the only amends that was needed was to myself. I came to the conclusion that by me sticking to my boundaries and not people pleasing that I am actually helping them and myself the best way possible.
What makes you feel anger?
I struggle with anger (heck all emotions) which In my sobriety I have learned is a result of being neurodivergent. You did the write thing by putting it out there. My day started with anger and resentment and I called some of my best dudes in the program and within an hour I felt my anger lifted.
Hang in there
You will have a chance to dive into your resentments more if you decide to work the steps.
