I’ve had one where I was looking at myself. I wasn’t intoxicated in my nightmare but it was my behavior that was showing. I am the type of drunk where I am the total complete opposite person that I am in person real life. If you want to know more let me know
Oh yea thank God it is just a dream!
I get the same way, my Jekyll and Hyde
Yes sometimes I do. It hasn't happened in a while though.
All the time. It’s not real. Don’t sweat it. Just don’t pick up a real one and you’ll be A-OK!!
I call it a free bee! They bothered me the first few times.
Drinking and using dreams. Yes I have those not so much anymore my friend is clean and sober 15 years and she still has them. They are vivid And you can smell and taste the alcohol, and then you feel the guilt that people I’ve seen you drinking. It’s totally normal it’s part of Recovery
That’s what I was saying it’s more in the beginning, but some of us have them after years of sobriety. But they aren’t as often and I don’t freak out because it’s normal
We were just discussing this in group today. People theorized it's your brain releasing the dopamine in your sleep mimicking the feeling in the dream.
I know this is an old thread, but wanted to comment anyway. I have been in recovery from my meth addiction for 13 years. I still have using dreams now akd then. Usually when I am experiencing a lot of stress and I am not engaging in enough self care.
I’m over 21 months sober and I had my first drinking dream last night. It was horrible! Definitely had to attend a noon AA meeting today! All is good!
I have had dreams about hiding alcohol and being drunk. Worried about people finding out
I would have using dreams a lot in the first few weeks. I still do but now they're more dreams of me getting it. Part of my addiction was the whole process of how I got my dope and sneak it into the house and smoke while I thought no one noticed. So I have dreams I'm going through that again. I instantly call a friend who, thank god, said and means call me anytime you need.
From time to time I do , but I'm intoxicated either I'm in a club or Casino but every one is intoxicated..
I’ve heard that these are actually quite positive. especially when you wake up thinking phew I didn’t use!!! it’s our brains way of processing, and realizing this is no longer an option for us. hang tight
All the time but I do the same thankful I wake up every day sober
Yes. I'm just over 5 months in and I'll have dreams that I accidentally drink. Or I'll know that I'm drunk in my dream but can't remember why or my day count...I just know that I messed up. I do experience lots of relief upon waking.
I have drinking dreams off and on. More common in early recover. I just always remember there not real, talk to my higher power when it gets me shaken up a little.
Lol actually all the time. Nightmares rather, but thankfully you eventually wake up and aren’t hungover/ regretful etc.
So my main problem was drinking, and I’ll never really have drunk dreams. But sometimes I’ll have dreams where I get high. I’ve made my bed every day since I got out of treatment, and the dreams always start with me consciously choosing not to make my bed, it’s so weird
