Does anyone else have dreams about drinking and being drunk?

At least that means you’re getting a good night sleep! Congrats on 5.5 months Misty

Yes-“Drunk Dreams” feel(at the time) SOO frickin’ REAL but so VERY glad to wake up and realize that it was just a bad bad reality check of what it could be like again if I don’t continue to work at this thing! They are so real at the time though…

I did early on, and they would scare the heck out of me! I’m certainly glad they stopped many years ago!

I wake up thinking that I’m drunk or high or off the rails in general. Sadly it last a little bit, but it’s post acute withdrawal syndrome and is completely normal! Doesn’t mean it doesn’t suck any less haha, but definitely try to journal when you wake up or do your best to try to snap out of it. They’ll get a little better as you go on

Don't you worry it about as normal at it gets. When you are fighting the demons they try to a find any way in. Keep working a program and the dreams will get less and less. God bless

Yes! They’re awful but almost blessings in disguise. It means your commitment to sobriety has made its way to your subconscious. You are not alone at all as I have these on a monthly basis.

It’s odd you ask that cuz my first 6 months I was having nightmares. Relapsing & never reconciling with my daughters. It was like so real, I’d wake up pissed & sweating badly. They’ve pretty much went away now. 488 days & counting btw

Congrats to you! I just made it to 6 months today so hopefully that means the dreams will ease up

They are rare but I have had them

It's very common even with long time recovery.

Yes, but the only one that ever really bothered me was the one where I knew I was sober and tried to hide it in the dream.

All the time. Last night, in fact. For me, whatever I’m consuming in the dream tastes awful and I wake up feeling like I relapsed for a few minutes.

On my 7th birthday I dreamt that I celebrated my 7 years with a shot of makers mark. Was glad to wake up laughing and sober.
