I've definitely had a lot of those, but eventually I started turning down drinks and drugs in those dreams which felt really good

Yes it’s totally normal in early recovery

I constantly have them. In fact I just has one yesterday. I dreamt that I was sleeping. While sleeping I was dreaming of getting high. When I woke from my slumber. I was saddened bummed out because I got high. However I thought for a while and I realized that it was all a dream. I didn't get high, so I was like yeah. I got high didn't spend money and it was all a dream. I'm still sober only to waken from the dream if getting high. I then came to in the real world depressed saddened because I realized that although in my dream I didn't get high. Here in the real world I was still getting high. Ha Ha the joke was in me I was high the whole time.

Yes I did especially in early recovery. And I’m grateful when I wake that it was just a dream. I think my subconscious is working on stuff when I dream. Just my thought.

Not as much as I used to. It was weird tho, I wouldn’t see myself use, I would just know that I was inebriated and feel panicked because I couldn’t return to programming after using so I’d spend most of my dream doing random stuff trying to figure out how to go back.

I'm 1 year 7 months sober and I still occasionally have drinking dreams. It's weird but I'm glad to wake up sober lol

Yes. That is common. It will fade. Insidious addiction at times.

I’ve had many drunk dreams, I once had one where I didn’t realize it was a dream for about 10 minutes and my whole outlook was dark as though I really did drink. When I realized it didn’t happen my entire mood changed instantly. I believe sobriety is more than not drinking

Every once in a while- usually it's terrifying, thinking I got back into it; usually the dream is going back to jail. Worst dreams I have, hands down
