Feeling lonely

I’m with you, Megan. I still pop into AA meetings, but it’s not my favorite as I don’t find that counting days of sobriety and reflecting on the past is as effective for me as it is for others. I love the camaraderie and support it provides though.

Check out this app called the pheonix. It has all sorts of cool stuff to go do with people. I’ve done bowling, rock climbing, boxing, and a few other things. It’s got fellowship, and has proven to be a really cool and healthy outlet for me. They even have just regular coffee socials etc.

I totally feel you on AA. I personally don’t go myself for my own reasons. I do recommend doing something that you like like a hobby like I go to ceramics class and I go to yoga once a week I don’t know if there’s something similar that you would like to do I find that the community college has a lot of extracurricular activities for cheaper. But definitely fine something that you enjoy doing and you’ll find people who have the same interest there and hopefully you could make a friend. I understand it’s been a year in my sobriety and I still haven’t made any friends. It’s really tough when you’re older and being an adult, if you do need a friend, you have a sober friend in me.

Have you looked into either Refuge Recovery or SMART Recovery programs in your area, nice alternative for AA.

Megan, how are you doing?

( I love that Refuge Recovery and The Phoenix have been have been brought up ).

Been meaning to check out each of those resources.

AA, I seem to not be able to get into.
Peace.

AA HAS BEEN HERE FOR 80 PLUS YEARS AND GOING STRONG. .. SURE YOU CAN GET SOBER I GUESS MANY DIFFERENT WAYS. FOR ME. IM IN YEAR 36 HARD TO BELIEVE THAT I GOT SOBER AT 23 AND STILL WORKING ON THINGS. I ONLY HAVE MY STORY AND IT WORKS FOR ME AND IM EXCITED ABOUT IT... ALOT of people who don't make it in AA DON'T REALLY WANT TO BE SOBER OR NOT HAVE SOME LEVEL OF ACCOUNTABILITY TO ANYONE

What does everyone else do to combat what she is experiencing besides our programs? I feel it too at times.
