Thanks brother!
I was sober for 3 years and I personally handle grief a lot better when I am sober. Alcohol makes me hyper sensitive.
sending positive vibes your way.
and my deepest condolences
I don’t wanna go back to my old ways. But handling the death of my wife. And she left behind our 1 year old son. Just feel like everything has fallen apart at once. It was unexpected
What you're feeling is normal. Everything has fallen apart. That's a huge loss. I'm extremely sorry you are having to endure this pain! I can't imagine. My heart goes out to you! I don't know you but please Don't go back to your old ways. Your son needs you more than ever. Please reach out to your sponsor and perhaps a grief share group. Those groups help a lot. you pick the bottle back up it will only make things worse.
praying for you.
Yea it’ll make it worse. I’m just here to find a network of sober friends. I’m new to this app and all. I don’t have anyone to talk to in my world .
You came to the right place my friend! We're all here for you. Lots of support here. I've been on this app for a week now and have found it to be extremely supportive. Big hugs.
So have I, what about a higher power turns you away?
My answer to that is I act like god exist. Like I live my live by Christian values etc.. but I’m just not a religious person. I respect people who are religious and have nothing bad to say about them.
Nothing really turned off I just don’t know if there is a higher power in my opinion
For me personally, I’ve been dealt my hardest challenges after I got sober. Sobriety has also gifted me the best times in my life having only lived this way shy of a year. Going back out will not make this any easier for me. Having a clear mind is going to ensure I have a way to keep moving forward. Stay motivated man, your life is worth it and when you’re thriving that little dude will thrive too.
I don’t have a “god”. I don’t call it god. For me, my higher power is “it”. I don’t have a clue what that is but that doesn’t matter. The importance of why I’m here is insignificant, the fact I am is enough to make something of my life. Being the best version of me is going to be the most beneficial for anyone in my life be it family, friends or strangers. To be that I can’t drink and accepting it comes at your own pace. Do you want to do this or do you need to? Sobriety will not be easy but if you’re like the rest of us, you need to do it or you won’t have a long run.
Being sober I handle a lot of things different if I would of lossed why I was still using I wouldn’t be able to get thought it honestly but I’m doing and I have found myself and I’m actually happy I wouldn’t want it any other way
It is really tough but I use my recovery tools. It depends on the type of grief.
Jason, lean on other sober people. They can help you get through anything. Many of them may have experienced the same thing sober and maybe they can show you the way.
Life tends to flip us all around — hope you can stay with it!
It’s not about religion, it’s about spirituality. Both get confused with one another. Is the sea greater than you? What about the sun? Or universe? A higher power is anything you choose that is greater than you, that you believe can help you. For example, let’s say you believe in Karma (this is just an example) so you ask karma to protect you from ill intent because your not doing anything to deserve it, or for strength to do the next right thing, you send your negative energy out of yourself so you don’t use it against others and instead do something good. You get the idea of how karma works. You do good, good comes back to you. You get what you need. Like for me I needed something good to happen. I now have real friends for once who can help me through ending my toxic marriage because she won’t change and cheated on me. Her family is letting me stay with them while she’s going to move in with the man she’s been cheating with. Her family has my back, that’s the good coming out of it.
She would want you to stay clean
I’m sorry for your loss. Grief is had. It’s why I got addicted.
It’s is awesome that you realize it and are reaching out.
I raised my daughter by myself her whole life.
A saying from Tiger Woods helped me so much: Be a role model for your child.
My thoughts are w you.

It’s definitely flipped for sure. Thanks for the concern
Thank you so much for your kind words!!!
