Has anyone lost weight from their sobriety? If so, how long did it take? Been working out and eating healthy as well. Drinking lots of water.
Wow, that’s amazing!! Nice. I’m trying to lose 20lbs.
Lost 14 pounds been sober 6 weeks
Been sober for almost seven months and lost around 30 pounds!!
Were you dieting and exercising as well?
Yeah i cleaned up my diet (still isn’t terrific lol) and started doing hot yoga 3-4 times a week
7 months down 55 lbs and 13% body fat
Nice dude! Did you workout too?
Yeah. Nothing crazy. I do 15-25 mins every day. It’s not a long time commitment but most importantly it’s good for building the habit of doing it everyday
My diet is now also pretty perfect. I used to order two pizzas after a night of drinking my and eat both. Now I don’t make poor food choices
I know. Me too. I used to make horrible food choices when I drank..and when I was hungover the net day
I dropped 50 lbs in less than a year. Lots of water and walking at work. No other exercise or special diet. Just cut out the booze.
Definitely, alcohol is just empty calories and might deter you from working out that day or the next . Add in exercise and the right diet and you’ll not only lose weight quicker but feel a whole lot better!
All the losers are men!
I haven’t lost any. I’m hungry all the time. I haven’t gained any weight but I would really like to lose some.
80% diet 20% exercise. Find your daily caloric expenditure, run a deficit 300-400 calories a day which equates roughly a pound a week. Don’t do low carb and other yo yo diets because as soon as your done your body will adjust by storing even more carbs/sugar/fat. Up your protein intake and run a deficit and get in your workout. Cardio or weight training. No magic here, just hard work and healthy eating.
Well during my first 3 months I actually gained weight as I couldn't stop eating junk food. But then finally got that under control and I have lost 25 pounds in the last month
Wow you lost 25lbs in one month?!
I heard that intermittent fasting and keto is good for restoring your liver health. What are your thoughts on that?
Yes I did. Something finally clicked in me and I was able to stop eating all the sweets and other comfort foods. I mean I still do from time to time, but not as often. I have hit the gym on average of 4 days per week, and without the alcohol I found I definitely have more energy
Done keto and it’s rough on your body. Your body flips from burning glycol to burning fat which isn’t an ideal or efficient process in our bodies. Also, the fatigue is real, I didn’t have any energy to do my workouts. Once again, as soon as your done with keto and head back to carbs your body is once again going to try and store up as much as possible for the “next keto event.”
