Hello everyone. I'm new here. Was sober since April 22 and I fell back into it this last Sunday. Does anybody else have the same problem of going months without drinking and then f-ing everything up in one night?
If you work the AA program, that is mentioned on the bottom of page 35. Unsure how other recovery programs address this.
No AA. For you yes not for me.
Thanks Steve. Just not me.
Well Mark!!!! It seems did Stephen already mention AA. But you said it’s not for you. Here’s a question for you.
Do you think you can do this on your own?
Ask yourself that question and answer yourself truthfully. I have not met any person that is an alcoholic or a drug attic they didn’t need support and help from other people. Even though you’re on this app asking a question you’re talking to a bunch of people that’s in recovery that’s sober and his sobriety. We are all one big family because we have the same issues. I have a few years sober from alcohol. But I still ask for help because I can’t do this alone.
I am not trying to force you into AA because that’s your decision to make. But that’s what makes us a family is we help one another when needed. If you have an issue just say something on here of what’s going on with you. And you’ll be surprised of the people that will respond do your issue. I would be saying all this to you if I didn’t care about you because you’re here for help. And that’s what we do here we care for one another we help one another. So you also might have to change people places and things in order to change your process. So it’s totally up to you how much you want to do. Nobody can force you or make you do something you don’t want to do.
Sorry for the book
Yes. I’m back at it. Been sober for 10 days
Hi Mark. That one suck ass day that fucks up everything. That day just sucked ass. So, one day u fuck everything up. Another day u change lanes. Get back on the right path. Get back on the road to recovery. Have many good and happy days to come. Step back, have a look, pick the right path. Then go forward, happy. Next fuck up, stop, change lanes, go forward happy again

Mark you can succeed and yes many I know mess up every few months.
Yourself
Yeah brother I do. All it takes is 1. Which turns into 1,000. You’re not alone in this. It’s an awful feeling but it’s a new day. Don’t forget too. Yesterday’s shower won’t keep you clean today. It’s a process and needs to tended to each day. The record for sobriety is 24 hours. Won’t be beaten ever. Msg me if you want
AA may not be your flavor, but you might try a different program. Doing it alone rarely works.
Yes, that’s why I had to quit. I knew even if I could do ok for a while, one would always eventually lead to regrets and going overboard.
I feel ya! I do the same thing. Everything is going great, then bam. Everything lost with one bender. (Usually 5-9 days) keep picking yourself up each time! It gets old…
Mark AA works well. When you’re ready come on over. Join anytime, cancel anytime. It’s all up to you. No human can make you choose.
Good luck. Keep asking questions here for coping tools.
Yeah, I was sober for nearly 4 months, then started back again. Day 11 for me. My therapist said that drinking is a symptom of something else, so we’re peeling back the layers…
I’ve done that many times. But if you only stop drinking and don’t change your thinking or behaviors, you will always end up at the beginning.
Download Loosid and LISTEN NOW!...
https://loosidapp.onelink.me/vZuQ/greggchampion. Have you listened to this? It’s good - compares your sobriety with a salt shaker - if it tips over , a little spills out bit it’s still 99.9% full. I guess you could say if it gets empty ya die, but for today? Just a little salt on the table.
Went almost 4 months without a drink? When before I’ll presume you were drinking daily? Congrats on 4 months! So good for you. One day is just a bad day. Chin up, don’t beat yourself up - carry on as before.
