Hang in there brother , it does get better .. first few days could be really tough…. Don’t beat yourself up , u got this kid

It’s worth it. You are worth it. Everyone that has 10 years started with 10 minutes. It is ok to be upset with yourself, but don’t look at what you have done, look at where you are going. One day at a time, you got this.

It is true.
It gets better, Tommy.
I still cannot stand myself some moments!
Meaning…all of these memories of how much I hurt my own self and others surface.
However!

Nothing beats the freedom which sobriety offers.
This is natural, what you are feeling-Tommy.

Do not make things worse by picking up, using.

Please be so proud of yourself for being here, being clean. This is huge. Three days I S a big deal.

Three minutes was huge to / for me when I first started getting sober. I could not stand myself.
I have some down moments, we each do.

While I am not giving up this freedom which sobriety has given me.

Tommy, do not give up on yourself. You are doing something difficult and brave. And yes. You are worth it!

Hang in there Bud, first week is the worst but u will get thru it I promise an old timer told me u only have to go thru it one time, we r all here for u plz just STAY!!:smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

I know that feeling Tommy, keep going, the feelings are because once we stop self medicating we have to feel all our feelings! It’ll even out soon enough, each day clean gets us a little bit better and then before you know it you’ll be feeling on an even keel and able to navigate all the feelings without turning to drugs or alcohol.

I am so humbled by everyone’s support, it made me cry. I have been sober 6 days and I feel like any moment I could relapse. I know those thoughts were t for me but geez…thanks everyone.

It’ll get better. Stay the course.

Sobriety is like exercising for the first time. It’s terrible, you hate it, painful. But as you keep going it gets easier and you enjoy it.

Keep going my man

Exercise, tea, epsom salt baths, card games, and word searches all helped me. Detox sucks but if you keep active and your mind occupied it passes and you feel so much better. Keep at it you got this homie.
