It can’t hurt to talk to your doctor about depression you probably already have but drinking is just a Symptom

Alcohol is also a depressant. Go to a meeting. Check with your doctor about getting help with your depression

Read Alcohol Explained. If anxiety or depression are reasons you're drinking, you will make those problems exponentially worse and will guarantee you punch your ticket to an alcohol addiction. Stop drinking now. Read the book.

Hi Joyce. Welcome to Loosid. Have you met some sober lady friends? I hope so. You won’t get positive feedback from people that aren’t sober. Look forward to hearing from you

Be careful all. The pics on this profile are commonly used by catfish on other social /dating sites.

I was there it didn’t help it just made me numb for couple of hours but next day gotta face the problems again it’s not worth it

Hi Joyce. Your not alone ty for reaching out.

So many people have been there. Unfortunately, a lot wait for something to happen that brings them to their "rock bottom" to drive profound change. Wake up calls don't have to come from anything more than, "this isn't improving my life". Drinking never personally made me happy but I thought it did and eventually found myself in a terrible cycle that progressed gradually over 15 years. I really hope you the best and that you can find your natural peace with things to discover positive from negative and lasting memories from the positive.

Both depression and anxiety are side effects of using alcohol. We then use more alcohol to block those feelings and so the loop begins. I suggest some exercise to get rid of those feelings. Go for a brisk walk or run. It does wonders and can be the beginning of a good habit.

It was hard for me to tell what was causing my depression and anxiety. After working a program and staying clean they both got somewhat better. At least tolerable. That’s just me though. Some people still need meds.

I know you posted that a month ago but if you are still drinking on a fairly regular basis please do not attempt to detox on your own especially with alcohol. Simply saying what you already said is taking the next step before the next step before the next step and so on good job!

One day at a time

Keep your head up hun take it one day at a time

This reply gave me hope.thank you Andrew for being so honest

I take anti depressants. You can’t take them with alcohol because they cancel each other out. Make sure you’re ready to stop drinking and see a doc about medication for depression.

Sure anytime! Anxiety is the reason some of us drink to calm down. Reach out anytime. You are doing great
