I don’t like the Feelings 😂

So lately I’ve been really emotional.. I’m a supervisor and seem to be really passive aggressive when needing to get co workers to do things, especially the hard headed one’s along with my family.. what can I do to get my head right? I know I have to FEEL these things as I’m sober but this is really new and uncomfortable for me.

Communication is very difficult I’m going through this issue now with my therapist and the things suggested seem real unrealistic, but I bet if I use her advise and practice it with her approach it will work eventually. Jabbing a therapist helps get through these bumps in the road

absolutely feel you on this ! i’m a supervisor at a school and it baffles me the things i have to address ADULTS about , i’ve slowly learned that i can’t expect everyone to have my work ethic, i can only work with things that are within my locus of control , i hope you feel better and i promise sobriety is the reason why you’re able to be so self aware , blessings !!!!

Try meditation - I like the calm app for 10 minutes w Jeff warren.
He’s very light and easy and it really works.

Does he speak ? Or is it mostly relaxation exercises?

He does a little guided talking and then silence. I’m used to him so it doesn’t bother me. He has a nice way. I do it each morning and I do notice a clarity and less reactivity. I was in a tough time and triggered by everything. This helped me face it, see it and accept it. Every day is different- that’s guaranteed.

Look it’s part of what we go through my two dogs which one of them I’m watching for my daughter got into it this morning and I pushed them apart and my own dog ended up biting my hand didn’t even break the skin and I just started bawling like crazy you bit mommy you bit me you bit me. They were both very sorry and have been kissing my ___all day. but it is So not like me I am as tough as nails. I’ve been blocking out my feelings for 25 years. Just saying everything‘s fine everything‘s OK and just happy and joking and all that and it doesn’t work so just feel And try not to cry in front of your employees lol just go to the bathroom! It’s all going to get better as long as you don’t drink

I myself have been on the other end with a passive aggressive husband. What I usually do is say something sarcastic and walk off. That’s poor advice though. Possibly if you asked your employees what YOU could do to help them complete a task. It would show there is a problem but as their supervisor you aren’t above suggestions. Hope this help.

I struggle with this one. I use meditation to try and work out a lot of it. I find it helps especially before bed. I am able to process a lot and move to the next step logically. I also enjoy a cup of calm or tea it seems to help center me too

Hey, I'm in Killeen, TX. Looking for folks to go do something to give are minds a rest from issues. Like go zip lining, fishing ect. Hope you can get to better place.

So much to do in Texas.

I find that if I really understand the situation - like go ahead and ask dumb questions level - then I tend to respond inappropriately a lot less. It doesn't fix it but it keeps my mistakes down to an acceptable roar.

Ugh I have no advice. I despise feeling some times. Hang in there.

I am gonna reach a limb and suggest searching YouTube videos for speaking and communications. I’ve found some good tools on high conflict resolution and I took a communications class for healthcare workers. I found them to be extremely helpful and would sometimes practice the tools alone until it felt more comfortable. Remember that it’s in these uncomfortable situations where the most growth occurs. Be kind to your self!

Thank you.. I’m usually strong like that too but I guess everything has been blocked out for so long and that’s why I was like that. I’m more compassionate with my kids and fur babies!

That’s exactly right! I’ve been doing that and even the eldest most grumpy employee seems to take a liking to it and it started bringing peace with all the others

Meditation is something that’s hard for me because of how I struggle so hard to find that sweet spot in my mind.. listening to all the racing thoughts and feeling the random emotions in the beginning make it uncomfortable at first but in the end I always come out better and end up having a resolution to at least one thing. Good looking out brother!
