I dont have a support system. None of my friends are sober. If you're open to creating a friendship with me please reach out, I'd appreciate it greatly
You do have a support system, you are more than welcome to.reach out on this app , i am more happy to talk with you and from what I have experienced in am sure others are as well
There is a reason we are all on here darlin . one big dysfunctional family, that share a common burden and purpose you have support even if its coming from a stranger with a glorious red beard
You can always reach out to me!
You have friends!?
Hi Annie, friends are friends, drinking is drinking. They are not incusive. If they are true friends they will respect your wish not to drink. Then you will find who your real friends are. You will always have support here and other related sites. If you ever want to chat you can message me. I don't pretend to know anything but will tell you what I've learned. You don't have to go it alone. Best of luck
Hi Annie, Wedad (that's what she goes by) she posted a zoom meeting for Tuesday evening. I've not been to it, i get home too late. Keep an eye out or look for her post.
Haha I guess they're more like drinking buddies
You got us
Thank you everyone! Today has been a better day knowing I am not alone.
Hey I got your back also if you ever wanna talk just let me know
You no doubt found your support system here. Glad you joined and happy to have seen your post. Props on choosing your own path and making the choice to better your life and take control of it back even when your friends haven’t. That’s a really big and bold move to make by yourself. Make sure you don’t let them somehow guide you back but accept any and all guidance here to keep you in line with one of the best decisions you’ll have ever made for yourself. Way to go Annie! You’re on your way to such a bigger and brighter future
Hey there Annie. I’m a grateful recovering alcoholic and I would be more than happy/open to being here for you.
i’m in mankato as well if you ever wanna get together and go to a meeting just let me know!
Go to meetings in your area & get connected.
I know what it’s like none of my friends are sober, the ones that are are married or lead big lives, here in St Louis it would be great to meet a group of sober people to do stuff with… I’m happy to be a friend though all of us are joined together with a common cause, clean living
Annie I would love to be friends with you!
When I first got sober (like for real this time) I realized early on that I needed to make big changes. That included my friends. I, also, needed to admit that there was a difference between normies and people like me. It didn’t mean I couldn’t have relationships with normies, but I knew that they could never understand or give me what I need like “my people “ could. My AA/NA friends give me that. It takes a while, but if you show up enough, beautiful friendships will bloom.
Hi Annie! Are you in MN?
I'm a South Dakotan living in NYC. Please feel free to reach out!
