Im in AGREEMENT THAT YOUR DRINKING AND USING CAREER HAS BEEN RUINED AND RECOVERY HAS BECOME VERY PERSONAL FOR YOU. TAKE OWNERSHIP AND RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR RECOVERY AND YOU WILL HAVE IT. IF YOU NEED TO GO TO TREATMENT THEN DO IT. FACE YOUR FEARS... REMEMBER THAT RELAPSE NO LONGER HAS TO BE APART OF YOUR STORY. YOU ALREADY DID THAT. NOW IT'S TIME TO EMBRACE THE PROCESS OF RECOVERY
Kiss her goodbye But keep her in the forefront of your mind. Remember her and all the mess, destruction, havoc she causes. Time will pass and there will likely come a moment when you will be more comfortable, thinking about having a drink/s, reverting back to her. In this moment, everything is fresh from binging and you’re hating her. You deserve better for yourself.
Just get right back up and keep going. Pretend it didn’t even happen. You’ve got this and you ARE a new person now.
Mel,
How are you doing?
Anybody heard from Mel?
Toni,
Thank you for providing concrete suggestions.
I have never heard of Dr. Hopper.
I will look into this person’s work.
You also reminded me that I need to take my Vitamin D…( which has been prescribed to me ).
Yes.
Vitamins are important!
Appreciate you, your bringing up the biological components.
Addiction is directly related to biology…and meetings do not work for every addict.
While I am certainly not against meetings.
Those have helped numerous people.
Thank you and everyone take care…( and maybe refrain from typing in ALL CAPS )?
I never read those comments…in all caps.
When people type in all caps.
Makes my head hurt.
When I drank I thought in made me pretty fun when in sted it made me ugly and mean and otherwise thing I wouldn't do if I was sober be sober is the best thing I could have done for my self
You are not alone! Today is a new day. Not sure how you feel about AA meetings, but they have saved my life. Almost everyone in the room has been through similar situations as you. And there is never a shortage of words of encouragement and hope.
