You will get it brother.

You still have a desire to be sober that’s half the battle. You know what to do to stay sober. If you have not found AA and a sponsor, I suggest that you do. Remember “I get drunk…We stay sober.”

Be strong. You got this. 1 day at a time mentality so you don't out to much pressure on yourself. Find a hobby, go for walks, work out. Rid yourself of the friends that still drink and or do drugs they will only pull you back in. It's tough but what's worse is going g back to the old you.. you are awesome for trying that's the start

You cannot focus on the past. Stay focused on today the next 24 hours and know that all of the root issues that caused you to relapse God will give you wisdom, and you will break the cycle. May God’s grace be with you.

Joseph, we are addict/alcoholics and that’s what we do. We are our own worst enemies, when we are not absolutely IN 110%!
know we can do great things and stay sober for life. MY SOBRIETY IS MY NUMBER ONE PRIORITY IN LIFE! Sober I can have it all. The job, the girl(s), peace, adventure, love and much more.
Not sober, all I get is failure, misery and endless hangovers🤮
I’m here if you want to talk.

Nobody just decides to quit one day and that's it, we all stumble and fall. Get back in a program and get some fellowship and you'll be alright

Most of us have relapses. I'm in my first year after 4 relapses at about 6 months sober. You've recognized the slip/relapse. If you need assistance like detox, get to it immediately. Limiting the duration of the relapse is critical. So hop back on the wagon ASAP. We are all here rooting for you.

I've relapsed 22 times that led to hospital level detox stays. 3 different rehab stays. Over $1M in health-care insurance costs just from addiction related issues. I have literally lost everything from addiction (wife, $450k home, savings, jobs, totaled 4 cars) OD'd and died several times, Narcan saved me. I'm finally getting it together in the last year or so. If I can do it, I know you can too!

Praying for you .. please get back in programs ASAP..

I blew it 3 days ago. I almost had 4 months which is huge for me. At least we both survived to tell our story and we get another chance to get it right. It baffles me as well. Everything was going good!! Lifting you up in prayer and let’s begin again together.

You're not alone. It seems to me most people have relapses. You didn't loose a year plus of sobriety. You only had a step back. Pick yourself up dust yourself off, and see if you can figure out why you continue to make these self destructive choices.

Sorry you are struggling :pensive:. How long were you using this time? Do you know the difference between lapse & relapse? You don't have to start your recovery over because that is expected in the sover community! You and my you are in charge of your sobriety! You get to dictate how you do your sobriety no one else! Just start again and take a a couple weeks or a month off your time! Also I suggest getting into counseling, maybe out patient treatment, na meetings, aa meetings or smart recovery meetings. If meetings are not your jam thats okay too! Change your people, places & things! Also utilize coping skills such as meditation, listening to music and make a relapse prevention plan with your support system and write down the pros and cons of using! Don't give up keep trying! You got this! lapse in recovery is a brief, temporary return to using a substance or engaging in a behavior after a period of sobriety, followed by a quick return to recovery goals. Unlike a full relapse, a lapse is a single or short-lived event that doesn't mean the person has lost all progress. It is often a wake-up call and an opportunityWhy a lapse is different from a relapse
Relapse: A full-blown return to substance use or behavior that continues over a longer period, often resulting from a series of lapses.
Lapse: A single "slip" that does not lead to a prolonged period of use. to learn what triggered the slip and strengthen recovery. I am a substance abuse counselor so if you need help you can contact me.

I was 16 years sober before I messed up last year. I've stopped asking why, because there's really no answer far as I can see. I just ask what's next and what can I do to redeem what's been lost.
If you really need an answer, it's because people are dumb and we're people. No other reason needed.

Chances are your. Lot like me things get going good and I am making it ill sabatoge because deed down i feel I dont deserve it get with your sponsor or a professional and find the core issue that's key

Get back on the wagon and keep trying. Relapse is apart of the story just don't let it be the ending chapter!

Me too bro. Don't feel bad I gave up a year and some change. Hang in there

I know what you mean at one time I was a year sober. Then, relapse. Many times to get sober. Think of what you are doing to yourself. Seek help Heather it going to rehab or an A.A. meeting.Seek your higher power.

Everyone has an opinion and here is mine... First of all... You DID NOT LOSE ANYTHING. You had a lapse and now you get back up and keep going. If you have been doing this for years have you gone to a clinical treatment program yet? That and a minimum of a 24 month aftercare plan is mandatory for everyone I help. The reason why is every statistic out there will tell you those two things alone will increase your chances of staying sober by at least 40% more. That's a high number when your talking about sobriety. If you need any help to get in a top notch on let me know. I don't charge a dime. I do it to help people struggling. Advocate Bob

Good luck and keep your head up. You have already been beat up too much. You don't need any more negativity... Again, just my humble opinion
