I relapsed. My friend told me she’s disappointed in me but she she has every right to be. I really don’t see myself living past 25.
It's not a relapse if you haven't gotten it in the first place. Pick yourself up & try again. For many of us getting sober is impossible to do alone. You may want to give a sober support group (AA, smart etc.) A serious try. Life does get better when we're sober. It's not easy but definitely. better.
If you get to meetings, you can live. Don’t know why you wouldn’t. It’s such an easy form of treatment. Having a disease that is 100% treatable, if you do 100% of the work…and it’s not hard work. Stop feeling sorry for yourself and get started.
Sobriety is not a short sprint destroyed by a relapse. It is a long hike full of twists and turns and some slips. Keep going and you will find the journey will take you further than you can imagine. How long have you been sober? Are you getting back at it?
I was off alcohol for 4 days until last night , l went to an online AA this morning though
Awesome. Glad you reached out. You can make it. Connect with folks here in the app as well we have a lot of long term sober that if they told you their story you'd be amazed how similar they're to you.
Vic, you can do this. I'm not going to lie to you.... it's not easy, but you're here, so that shows me that you have a desire to get and stay sober. Keep going to meetings, read some of the literature (you can get the app free), and get a sponsor. These things literally saved my life. Give yourself a break, and take it one day at a time.
Thank you so much, you’re right I can’t quite give up yet. Went to a meeting this morning and looking into a second one today
Most of us on here have a lot of day ones. I have too many to count. The difference is some people give up and some just fight harder. I personally choose to fight. Best of luck on your journey
We’re all only human! Don’t let a relapse send you down a dark path! Tomorrow is a new day and you can be better than ever! Learn from your mistakes and know that there are lots of people out here to support u!
I have to go to actual meetings. Go early, stay late and talk to people! -Still, after 18 years and 10 months.
Vic, I can empathize with your pain. I never thought I would live to see 28, but I’m here. I have mental health issues and I’m an alcoholic. You are not alone. You have a whole community of people here on Loosid who want to support you. You can come back from this slip. You can recover. We are here for you! I’m proud of you for posting this because it shows you are willing to ask for help. I saw from the comments that you have been to a meeting so that’s great! You are taking steps to get better and that takes so much bravery and courage. Keep going. This journey is not easy but it is worth it.
Don’t resign yourself to defeat. That’s the alcohol talking. You can take back your life. Patience and support are the enemies of addiction.
Do not stop trying. God wants you to be here because you are a miracle!
Keep coming back!
You got this… your not alone
Don’t give up Vic. Keep going to meetings. You’re young and have the rest of your life ahead of you. You can do this

I never thought I myself would live past 25. I relapsed multiple times. My best friend who I was in a relationship hasn’t even talked to me since may. She has her reasons and I can’t blame her. I blamed myself a lot for it. But I also had to forgive myself and completely change everything. Things happen and it’s not the end of things. I am now 33 and I’m still here. So to make things worth it I am sober and striving for the best. I am learning to enjoy things I did while using since I was 12, but doing them sober. There wasn’t I thing I did in life without using. Maybe I will talk to her maybe I won’t but I have to live with that and live my life on life terms. Maybe your friend will understand maybe they won’t but you shouldn’t dwell on it. Continue to reach out to ppl here and other places and things will get better. If you need to vent hmu. I’m here if you need to talk.
Vic, I’ve relapsed 20 times. It’s not easy for many of us. Don’t beat yourself up
