It's hard to change and set backs happen. True failure is when you stop trying to be a better person. Try to refocus think positive and just be a better person each day. You got this.

I’m sorry you’re feeling terrible. It’s understandable. But it’s not the end of the story. Try to keep turning your thoughts to today. Today is all we can control. Let yesterday go. It’s done and it doesn’t warrant anymore attention or energy.

It’s not the end unless you give up. Be strong, you can always get back up and learn from it. Feel free to hit anyone up when you’re feeling down, even me if you want. I’ll send a prayer for you.

I understand what you’re going through, I’ve relapsed myself. Please don’t beat yourself up over this. You relapsed but your doing the right thing now, your staying on the path to maintaining your sobriety, that’s what counts. Please feel free to add me as a friend and message me anytime I’ll get back to you and I’ll listen without judging you

You fell, you get up , dust yourself off , beat yourself with a pillow , and figure out why you relapsed and then don’t do the same thing over again.

Praying for you. As long as you have a new day, you can start over.
Ask yourself what
Triggered the relapse? Write it down; keep a journal.
Start to develop your own coping plan.
Know your triggers.
Please get to the underlying issues. I know it may be scary and painful, but trust me & believe, you'll be a new person when you emerge from the other side.
All the best for you.

Most people are under the impression that relapse starts when you pick up the first drink. Truth be known, relapse starts long before you pick up that first drink. I highly recommend that you start going to meetings and go to 90 meetings in 90 days. Get yourself a sponsor who will take you through the 12 steps. That's how I did it and I'm working on 9 years.

Meeting makers make it!

Do you know why you picked up a drink? Because you believe the lie; that this time, everything will be okay. But it wasn't, was it.

I highly recommend that you get yourself to AA meetings, find a sponsor and get with the program. Otherwise you're going to be in for a long hard battle.

If you keep on doing what you've always done, you'll keep on getting what you've always gotten!

My heart goes out to you. I've been there! Please chat at me. I totally know what you're going through!!

I feel your pain, the Holy Spirit will give you strength. Day one again here too;. Let's do the things we need to in order to stay right minded and be good to the folks around us :hugs:

Failure is hard. But turn failures into experiences, so that you’ll look back and see what you learned from it. Sometimes failures are just opportunities to change our strategy, instead of giving up completely. You can do hard things.
Prayers & hugs♥️

A lot of people highly recommend AA, because it worked for them. And that’s great and all, but AA isn’t the end all cure all. It doesn’t work for everybody. If it works for you, great, but don’t believe that it’s the only way. There are other methods to recovery.

While I agree AA can be beneficial for some, and I’m glad it worked or you, it’s not for everybody and doesn’t work for everybody. There are other methods to sobriety than the AA program and 12 steps. Everybody’s recovery is individual to themselves. AA isn’t the only way to get and stay sober. That’s why I encourage people to search for what works for them specifically and not just what works for some. Congrats on the 9 years though.

I’ve relapsed a few times in my past. It’s an awful feeling. I mostly felt shame which led to self loathing. I’m 3 years sober today, and it’s because I tried again and again. Don’t give up. Find a meeting, spill your guts, find another 24 hours. You’re stronger than you know♥️

You don’t need prayers, you need a better sponsor. Someone that you will listen to and can direct you properly. Prayers aren’t going to keep you sober, lots of meetings and a sponsor that knows how to sponsor will

Easy does it, Rose. We rest today and rise tomorrow. And get right back at it. As others said. It’s now in the past so try to learn the lesson. Learn your triggers and adjust the plan forward accordingly, whether it be sponsorship, simply calling a friend, attending support meetings, meds, whatever! I will one day be able to say “that first year was unbelievably hard and I relapsed over TWELVE times”. But I will also be able to say I did not quit and give in to addiction. And you won’t either. Hugs, love.
