It's hard to change and set backs happen. True failure is when you stop trying to be a better person. Try to refocus think positive and just be a better person each day. You got this.
Praying for you. Chat when you can.
Iâm sorry youâre feeling terrible. Itâs understandable. But itâs not the end of the story. Try to keep turning your thoughts to today. Today is all we can control. Let yesterday go. Itâs done and it doesnât warrant anymore attention or energy.
Itâs not the end unless you give up. Be strong, you can always get back up and learn from it. Feel free to hit anyone up when youâre feeling down, even me if you want. Iâll send a prayer for you.
I understand what youâre going through, Iâve relapsed myself. Please donât beat yourself up over this. You relapsed but your doing the right thing now, your staying on the path to maintaining your sobriety, thatâs what counts. Please feel free to add me as a friend and message me anytime Iâll get back to you and Iâll listen without judging you
You fell, you get up , dust yourself off , beat yourself with a pillow , and figure out why you relapsed and then donât do the same thing over again.
Praying for you. As long as you have a new day, you can start over.
Ask yourself what
Triggered the relapse? Write it down; keep a journal.
Start to develop your own coping plan.
Know your triggers.
Please get to the underlying issues. I know it may be scary and painful, but trust me & believe, you'll be a new person when you emerge from the other side.
All the best for you.
Most people are under the impression that relapse starts when you pick up the first drink. Truth be known, relapse starts long before you pick up that first drink. I highly recommend that you start going to meetings and go to 90 meetings in 90 days. Get yourself a sponsor who will take you through the 12 steps. That's how I did it and I'm working on 9 years.
Meeting makers make it!
Do you know why you picked up a drink? Because you believe the lie; that this time, everything will be okay. But it wasn't, was it.
I highly recommend that you get yourself to AA meetings, find a sponsor and get with the program. Otherwise you're going to be in for a long hard battle.
If you keep on doing what you've always done, you'll keep on getting what you've always gotten!
My heart goes out to you. I've been there! Please chat at me. I totally know what you're going through!!
I feel your pain, the Holy Spirit will give you strength. Day one again here too;. Let's do the things we need to in order to stay right minded and be good to the folks around us
Failure is hard. But turn failures into experiences, so that youâll look back and see what you learned from it. Sometimes failures are just opportunities to change our strategy, instead of giving up completely. You can do hard things.
Prayers & hugsâĽď¸
A lot of people highly recommend AA, because it worked for them. And thatâs great and all, but AA isnât the end all cure all. It doesnât work for everybody. If it works for you, great, but donât believe that itâs the only way. There are other methods to recovery.
While I agree AA can be beneficial for some, and Iâm glad it worked or you, itâs not for everybody and doesnât work for everybody. There are other methods to sobriety than the AA program and 12 steps. Everybodyâs recovery is individual to themselves. AA isnât the only way to get and stay sober. Thatâs why I encourage people to search for what works for them specifically and not just what works for some. Congrats on the 9 years though.
If you didn't die you've got the gift of being able to try again! Don't be so rough on yourself you lived thru it and now you've found one more way not to do it!!! You've got this chica, I believe in you!!! You have support here in me 413-640-6349
One day at a time, Rose. Stay positive, forgive yourself, and remember tomorrow is a new day. Speaking from experience.
Iâve relapsed a few times in my past. Itâs an awful feeling. I mostly felt shame which led to self loathing. Iâm 3 years sober today, and itâs because I tried again and again. Donât give up. Find a meeting, spill your guts, find another 24 hours. Youâre stronger than you knowâĽď¸
You donât need prayers, you need a better sponsor. Someone that you will listen to and can direct you properly. Prayers arenât going to keep you sober, lots of meetings and a sponsor that knows how to sponsor will
Easy does it, Rose. We rest today and rise tomorrow. And get right back at it. As others said. Itâs now in the past so try to learn the lesson. Learn your triggers and adjust the plan forward accordingly, whether it be sponsorship, simply calling a friend, attending support meetings, meds, whatever! I will one day be able to say âthat first year was unbelievably hard and I relapsed over TWELVE timesâ. But I will also be able to say I did not quit and give in to addiction. And you wonât either. Hugs, love.
I relapsed for my third time last week. Itâs going to be okay. We just get right back up and keep going. Donât be too hard on yourself. Itâs a hard hard journey. You got this!
