I’ve been pretty depressed the past few days. It really sucks…
Bri keep your head held high and lean on your support system
I just went through a similar time. I just kept going to meetings and talking to people and it passed. It was hard but worth it.
Depression does suck Bri! I struggle as well. I recently read Psalm 16:1. Which says “Preserve me O God for in you I take refuge. I have spent so many years looking for the things and people of this world to give me what I need and to protect me. I have started a practice of running to him for relief from depression. It’s been helping. Stay with it girlie. We are all here.
One day at a time! Doing the right thing by reaching out and talking about what's going on. Keep your head up and your eyes to your higher power!
I know how u feel .it does suck really. I have sruggled w deppression and do still.hang in there ur already doin the right thing by reaching out! Just for today/tonight, u got this!!
Yep depression is the pits. When I do small things that I enjoy or can be glad that I did it helps. Also remembering nice times that I've had.
Some days are good Some suck! However if you are new to soberity the first couple weeks will be challenging because your body is detoxing! Best suggestion I have is get to an AA meeting EVERYDAY!!! if transportation is an issue you can go on ZOOM! app and do it from home! Also when you at the meeting Get EVERY WOMAN'S name and phone number so you can reach out when you have days like this! Hang in there!!! Don't know you but I believe that ANYONE admitted that they are an alcoholic can WORK the AA program and get their life back! Have a blessed night
I’ll pray for you be strong! I can feel ur pain I’m 45 days and struggling also so hang In there.
What's been going on? Sharing can be a sort of therapy...chat anytime or have meetings to share too
Hi Bri, during a really depression I started watching a dark drama series and realized it was making my depression worse. I changed to comedies and it helped. Same with music, be careful what vibes you feed your soul.
When I get depressed, I tell myself to move a muscle, change a thought. 10 out of 10 times it works!
Bro get to a meeting, talk to your sponsor, talk to all of us what’s going on.Know this to shall pass.
Bri not Bro
I'm sorry to hear that you've been feeling depressed. Depression can be a difficult and challenging experience, and it's important to take care of yourself during these times. It's great that you're reaching out for support.
There are many things you can do to manage and alleviate depression. Here are a few suggestions:
-
Reach out for support. Talk to friends, family, or a mental health professional about how you're feeling. Sometimes just talking about your feelings can help you feel better.
-
Take care of your physical health. Exercise, eat healthy foods, and get enough sleep. Taking care of your body can help improve your mood.
-
Practice self-care. Do things that make you feel good, such as taking a relaxing bath, reading a book, or listening to music.
-
Try mindfulness or relaxation techniques. Meditation, deep breathing, or yoga can help you feel more calm and centered.
Remember that depression is a treatable condition, and with the right support and treatment, you can feel better. Don't hesitate to reach out for help when you need it.
Hang in there Bri. This too shall pass.
What’s making you depressed?
Your body is relearning how to exist without your doc. To put it plainly, your ability to regulate yourself is lost in the beginning. It takes time. And your addiction is selling you the big lie. That you’ve got this. That it will be different this time. You don’t. It won’t.
Depression is a beast, keep fighting girl.
Depression sucks, been there!! I’ve learned that depression is like the ocean tide, it floods in but I know it will go back out. I have tools I’ve learned in my recovery program to keep my sobriety solid on high tide, I have support from the medical field to lessen the misery. The combination of the two has made a big difference. May I ask if you have a sponsor and worked the steps of recovery?
