Just dipping my toes in a new safe place. I'm the type that can stop cold turkey for a few weeks, once every few years I'm capable of stopping for months at a time. I always end up relapsing. I go on these benders days at a time and then the guilt eats me up. I'm not in recovery right now. I need to start meetings, find a sponsor and get psychological help. Hi, I'm Ryder. How has this app helped you?
Hi Ryder, I just found this app Christmas Day. It has helped me vent. Reading other people’s post helps me know I am not alone and gives encouragement to keep going. It also helps me to reach out and make suggestions for others based on my experiences.
Welcome Ryder!
Sounds good. Thanks!
Thank you!
I have a similar story, I didn’t think I was an alcoholic because I was a bit binge drinker and could stop for periods of time. It progressed until I was drinking daily.
Welcome to loosid. Lots of recovering souls here. May your higher power/God be with you.
And now? You doin well?
Thank you!!
Absolutely, as soon as I admitted defeat and reached out for help.(AA for me) did the work I needed to do to change my thinking and realize why I drank alcoholic like. I’m enjoying 3 years and a couple months of recovery and a reasonably happy life.
Congratulations. That's fabulous work you've done!
Hello I currently live in Tennessee but I'm from the Pittsburgh area its hard to stay sober if you don't give yourself a chance to heal,a month is not long enough for your body and brain to get back to normal, recovery is the only way to get help, all the corny little saying are 100% true people, places and things if you change everything in your life that is a trigger for you to drink than you chances of staying sober are really good, I hope you get clean and stay strong and keep your head up you can make it, I promise you sober life is awesome and after awhile you won't even want it anymore, don't let another day go by cause you can't get it back......
Thank you
Thank you. I wholeheartedly agree with what you've said.
Welcome Ryder. That sounds like a great plan!! I’m learning I’m an extrovert and need lots of people time

I just so happen to be really good at boosting egos and raising confidence. I gotcha on that.
Hey Ryder! I quit drinking because I was a binge drinker as well. 1 beer, 3, 6, 10, then to a whole bottle of Jager. Went cold turkey and have been sober for 12+ years. Scout things out and find out what works best for you. You also have a great support network. Anytime you need it!

That's amazing. You're will power is impressive! Thank you for your support.
Thanks, dear! Much good luck and happiness in your journey. Happy to help however I can!
Hey Ryder! Your story is just like mine from what you’ve explained. I’ve been trying to get and stay sober all year but have relapsed almost every time. This time I decided not to count, but it’s been a little while now. I’ve gotten to my rock bottom. I’ve ruined relationships that I’m not sure can be mended. Personal and professional. NOW, I know this is what I want. I wish you all the best for you taking your power back.
