Thank you so much! When you're ready to stop you know that feeling and it helps. I'm also ready to live life the right way, finally! Cheers to recovery!!!
It has helped me interact with people I normally wouldn't especially coming out this side of all the covid shutdown. I also enjoy the positivity and sharing tips to reach my goal of sobriety.
Love this!
Hey there. Iām new here too.
Oh, ello- do you drink daily or are a binge drinker like I am?
Actually, Iām a recovering alcoholic. I drank whenever I could for as long as I could. I could not decide the rate; it controlled me.
Scary but relatable. Glad you're doing well now.
Thanks, Ryder. If you alcohol is causing you problems, I hope you find a solution. Good thing is that there are many.
I'm working on it. Thank you!
Welcome. I am new to this app. I am a binge drinker also but am 74 days alcohol free as of today. I ironically work part time in a bar but am not tempted there, Iām tempted at home alone out of boredom and loneliness. I have not been to any AA meetings yet just online support groups like this.
I work at a bar as well. Never tempted there. Same as you cravings when I'm alone or bored. Congratulations on 74 days!!!
Luckily there are about 5 of us that are sober that work at the bar so we all look out for each other. 3/5 people have been sober for 20+ years.
Welcome Ryder. Iām a binge drinker. Stop for awhile, something sets me up, then binge for days. Broke up from my girlfriend/drinking buddy of four years and hoping that will help. Sober for a whopping 41 days now and feeling better, but still ups and downs. Plenty of folks here just like you and me for support.
This two shall pass yep
41 days is wonderful, don't down play it! Be proud of yourself. I'm sorry to hear about the breakup, I'm going through a bizarre breakup, so I feel ya. And I'm definitely addicted to this app already. It'll be my new vice. Thanks for reaching out.
Thank you Ryder. Itās nice find people in the know of this bulls**t called addiction and supportive. Hate the insomnia and ups and downs of early recovery. Pissed off one minute and happy the next. Yes, breakups in the middle adds to the funālol, especially when their acting crazy and calling you up drunk while your trying to stay sober. Geez Louise!!
The app is a good way to keep in touch with people who are interested and active in recovery.
I drink at home alone. I think thatās the problem. I have nothing to do when Iām not working. I donāt have a girlfriend and drown my sorrows instead. Thatās the key. We all, at least I do, need something to do when we arenāt working.
Boredom is a powerful trigger to me too so I do all I can to stay busy.
Home alone. Itās the devil in disguise.
