I remember those days. Then one day the desire just poof. Was gone. Like a light switch. I stayed long enough until a miracle happened. How? I wish I could explain it more. I remember the moment to. Desire vanished during a near drinking moment. Crazy.

Glad you’re here recovering with us all!

Hi Michelle. I was just like you at that same point. Breathe, step back and do one thing at a time. Attend meetings, if you can get to in person meetings you may stand a better chance at meeting a woman you connect with to become your sponsor. I was like making myself crazy I gotta to this, that and the other. There is no rush. Just being sober is the perfect start. The right sponsor will happen and you will know it. I had 35 months last Sunday and because I couldn’t get to in person meetings due to spine surgery, I still don’t have a sponsor. I am not formally working on the steps because my counselor told me there is no rush to take my time. See I went to meetings where I was told I wouldn’t stay sober if I didn’t do the steps or get a sponsor but, I am and the time will come to do that and meet someone. I know I just don’t want to go back in the h@ll I was in and, not that it’s easy but, I love life now and actually getting the trust back with my husband and daughter is the best ever. I also have a 40 year old friend who is having a liver transplant as I type this from stage 4 cirrhosis, so that is a daily reminder also. Just keep posting. You may private message me also if you would like to chat privately. Just take it one minute, one hour or one day at a time. You got this. :scream::scream::scream:
