My relapses seem most likely to happen when I don't think anyone cares anyway. And right now I feel that way. I feel like nobody cares

That was my cop-out for 12 years.After my family disowned me , especially my children. Yes, people do care for you.They want you to be happy, free from a bondage.So fierce that is the devil.

I played the victim for years. Then I held myself accountable. That’s when I healed and got sober for good.

Yes I stopped that I have done something unless I did. And I don't blame God anymore because people have free will. I just wonder why they choose to ignore me. But a friend in recovery has reminded me (again) that there is the possibility of misunderstanding.

You need to care about yourself enough to stay clean you can't be clean depending on how others make you feel I had to learn that my sobriety is my responsibility no one else's so now if I know if I relapse its because I wanted not because I felt that no one cared about me

I had to ask myself, if I pick up, would that make matters better? My answer was no. God cares about you Ben, and so do I and many others. I'm proud of you for sharing, your sharing touches so many lives. I'm praying for you :pray:t5::pray:t5::pray:t5:

Its not other people's jobs to care about you, I know it is nice to have people around that care, but if you don't care about yourself?

How can we expect other people to care for us, if we don't actively care for ourselves?

Once you learn to be the one that cares, it will be more obvious to you when you see others care for you as well.

I care. I really do. I get it though, I dont have one person in this world so I can relate. If you did slip, its ok buddy. Just pick yourself back up and come back! Just no matter what, come back!
