My sponsor was talking to me very rudely so I

My sponsor was talking to me very rudely so I told her it wasn’t going to work out but I reached out to my old sponsor and she said “she was only trying to toughen me up”. I’m sorry I don’t like the idea of that at all!

At work right now have not got to a meeting this weekend yet how is everyone feeling ?

Be careful. I’ve had rude sponsors who have triggered me to relapse. I have no patience for a rude, disrespectful sponsor!

That is a tough one, try out some other meetings and stick with it. Keep looking for a sponsor that fits with what you want in life and go with it.

I'm a fairly tough man. 10 years in military. But in my book, there is no place for being rude in this type of mentoring relationship. I am in IT now, 25 years, and I mentor alot of young software developers. I am never rude to any of them. Don't be anyone's punching bag. They are feeding there own ego.

Get a new sponsor. Let her problems be her problems. Hold no resentments. Pray for her. Continue your path.

I agree with Craig. I just got my first sponsor. I’m firing her if she sucks.

All I know is most of us are pretty emotional people who easily go from 0-100 on a dime. Not knowing how to deal with my feelings since I no longer numb them with alcohol or drugs leads my emotions to be intensified. Was your sponsor just telling you the truth about your alcoholism and you didn't want to hear it. Was she being honest with you and you didn't want to hear it. Or was she rude even though she is taking time out of her life to help you? What a sponsor can't do is tell you everything will be ok no matter what. Did your old sponsor say that she would sponsor you again? Get a new sponsor or don't, use or don't use, the choice is always yours alone.

No she was talking to me inappropriately.

Right !!! And then she had the nerve to say it was my problem so disrespectful.

Woww she used to talk about her ego a lot so I think your right about this one

Hey, im a licensed recovery coach. 6+ years sober. My ears are always open. I'm here for you

Leelee, I had a sponsor leading a meeting that told me off in a group meeting and I was horrified. I was embarrassed and almost in tears. I left I actually apologized to her for expressing my emotions about the topic at hand and shut up for the rest of the meeting. I had multiple people come up to me to apologize for her behavior but she never did. I called the administrator the next day and let them know how inappropriate I thought it was and she agreed. Needless to say I never went back. I found another one to attend. However, that set me back in many ways. It hurt my confidence and made me afraid to open up for awhile so I felt I wasn't good enough to attend meetings. Good thing I found a better group and spiritual support. Read alot. It helps. I also found that Joel Osteen helped with my confidence. I watch a new episode every day usually in the morning to start my day. It really lifts me up and gives me a great attitude. You can watch all kinds of different episodes on YouTube. Give it a try... you may be pleasantly surprised :open_mouth:.

Thank you  this experience has me confused. It’s one thing to be tough on someone but saying something offensively is like she wanted to get this reaction today I saw she found me on Instagram and liked one of my pictures I really liked her at first she invited me into her home she took me out to eat I appreciated those things but when she was texting me it was like she was a different person hiding behind the phone. I’m 21 days sober today and I’m excited for more sober days to come. I got my 3rd dui and I’m so scared of what will happen. I can’t loose my lively hood of driving and certainly can’t go to jail I have a almost 6 year old. I have a lawyer but he said to me we have to win and by winning is proving I was not under the influence which infact I was not. I was dizzy from my migraines and it causes me to be unbalanced I also refused the breathalyzer because I felt like why should I take the damn thing I have one approved by the state in the car that shows I’m not under the influence the police was very aggressive and treated me unfairly, because he saw I had prescription suboxane I really don’t know what to do I’m moving into an apartment November 5th going to a neurologist to see if there’s anything else causing my balance to be off but I’m so scared of the outcome :pensive:

Leelee, was this DUI during your probation period? I'd so, you probably don't have much of a chance. DUI especially during the probation period is brutal. You don't have to be drunk. You just have to be "impaired". We're you even supposed to be driving at all? What state are you in?

I was not high or drunk. I’m in New Jersey. I’m not on probation. I do have a device in my car that I get out in January. But even the dialog for that specific day I blew 0.00

That's good then. Did he ticket you fir medication? If not then you have nothing to prove. if you have a public defender you may want to ask for a different one.

I'm not an attorney. I did however work for a law firm for quite a few years.

No he gave me a dui and failure to summit breathalyzer and I have a paid lawyer
