Demi Lovato has coined "California Sober." I was today years old when I learned that Demi is now a supporter of Sober Sober; no longer California Sober. Apparently this is as of December 2021.
How does this news make you feel?

Feels like demi don’t smoke weed no more
Interesting. For me I still feel the same…I can’t. If I could I would!!! As for others, I don’t live in their shoes. I don’t know what demons go thru their heads. I’m open to the “possibility” that it may work for someone, or may be a short term option to kick heroin addictions. They often treat these heavier drugs with other drugs to help addicts quit. Either way, it’s good to see her getting sober sober. Maybe she’ll share her experience so that others can learn from her experience
I am glad she is open about her journey.
I remember when she first said that. Ken Sealy had the best reaction and spoke the truth.
"For Seeley, though, who considers the term "California sober" to mean using drugs or alcohol "in moderation," anything short of complete abstinence cannot and should not be considered sobriety.
You might not do heroin, but you may smoke pot. But the reality here [is that there] is no moderation for people that suffer with addiction," he told ET. "... You can't just turn it off."
Seeley, who's been sober himself for 31 years, takes offense to the term itself, too.
"I think the term 'California sober' is quite disrespectful to the sober community," he said. "I know a lot of people that work really hard to hold their abstinence and fight for their lives in recovery and to bring up this new term, 'California sober,' is so inappropriate."
Seeley thinks "making up" the term "California sober" is not only inappropriate, but also dangerous.
"It could kill millions of people by letting them know that it's OK to use in moderation... To tell people that they could be sober and use in moderation is almost criminal, because I guarantee you if that takes off, people will die thinking that they're California sober when there is no such term. There is no such thing," he said, adding that continued use of alcohol and marijuana is "nowhere near sober."
Completely agree with that truth bomb
She can be sober as sober all she wants. But to be free she needs to do some work in a 12 step fellowship and RECOVER !!!! How free does Demi want to be is the question???
Do you know if she is in a program or not?
I’m guessing at her California Sober bull——— days she wasn’t. Hopefully she is now.
Wth is California sober??? Lol
Replacing one substance with another that's less harmful.
Oh! That makes no sense lol
Lol

For me it really doesn’t effect my sobriety. I’m glad she’s doing the next best right thing for her. Power of prayer!!!
3 years sober without 12 step and life is fantastic.
No weed. California Sober makes no sense to me
I don't care either way. Lol. When the term first came out I thought well, that fad won't last long.
Thank you! 12 step is not the ONLY way to be sober. Seems like it is for some, but there can be other ways too. I appreciate seeing your post.
I feel like it’s great cause as long as she’s sober that’s all that matters. She struggled many years which is a reality. All of us struggle at some point in time.
Abstaining from substances after (years of) addiction is difficult, no matter who the being. Everyone’s journey is different. I personally believe that everyone’s got some method of “turning off and tuning out”; who doesn’t want anesthesia for the strife that life deals us? Unfortunately for some of us, we’re unable to control our urges to pacify. Either way, life is hard… but it teaches us along our journey, if we’re open to it, to be better people. Humans are innately selfish. Rising above is more difficult but worth the squeeze.
I don’t know all of DL’s journey and I can’t judge. I empathize with the struggles of addiction she’s so graciously shared with us. … And I FN applaud her for being open and honest, not just with herself (like all of us who struggle with addiction try to do), but with her fans/the world. Xox
