Over 60 days sober

At a thanksgiving dinner and people are drinking. I want a drink so bad. Trying to convince myself that i dont need it. Also trying to convince myself that one wont hurt.

“One is too many and a 1000 is never enough.” These words cannot be more true. Hang in there.

Don't drink, Lisa. You'll regret it. You're stronger than this.

If you don't drink today, you'll have 61 days tomorrow. If you drink today, tomorrow will be Day 1. It's not worth it.

You don't need it you want it.. there's a difference.. look where you was 60 days go.. you do you... you can't drink they can..

It’s great you’re being honest. People, places, and things. If you feel that way than it might be time to leave the situation.

Hello Lisa. Don’t worry about them. Ignore them drinking. Let your willpower take over. I stayed away from family and friends for 2 years until I realized that I was finally never going back. It’s going to take time but don’t do something that you are going to regret. Hang in there and stay sober.

@lisa140811 I will definitely agree with @matt172628 and @marcus279131. If you can completely leave then go ... if you can get outside then get outside.
I get it though. I had 61 days of sobriety on Thanksgiving 1988 and I drank. I felt like :poop: the next day. It wasn't until Christmas day 1988 that I put the bottle down. If we all can do it, so can you.

One drink is too many, and a barrel is never enough. It’s simply not worth it. 60 consecutive days is awesome!!! I always try to remember to let the tape play all of the through, and think about what will happen if I take that first drink. I have a disease that convinces me that one drink will never be the end of it, I know I will want more, and for that, I am powerless. I chose to stay away from my family because of their choice to drink. And they respect that. You have a choice as well, and you have been making that choice for the last 60 days.. I am proud of you for that!!

Hope you stayed strong the temptation around holidays sucks so does family if so many people were not only about self they would have not drank around you I demand that respect and if they can't give me that and contribute to my sobriety sorry but not sorry boundaries! Have a blessed and sober day

Lisa I just want to tell you that I'm really glad you're here on this site.
Not only that but I'm really glad that you told on yourself. Because it's the newcomers that come back to a meeting telling themselves about wanting to relapse or that they have relapsed that keeps the old timers coming back. Cuz without the newcomers the old timers wouldn't be old timers anymore.

I understand especially when you have no support.
