Really struggling today and the day is just getting started, I don’t want to drink .. yet But I feel like everytime I’m ok I get knocked down. Have had two people I really care about pass away in the last two days and with this disease I normally want to turn to alcohol but that thought has yet to cross my mind the thought that came across was man I really hurt those two people
In my addiction and they got to see me get sober and change my life but my mental health is struggling I know they are in a better place and I am trying to give all these emotions to my higher power but I struggle with mental health and don’t want to spiral ❤️‍🩹😞

Prayer and meditation. It sounds corny but it’s all that’s ever worked for me. Journaling also helps.

Sending you hugs. I’m so sorry for your loss. In times of grief, journaling & allowing the tears really helps me. Compassionate self forgiveness, holding and loving the little one within as if I am my own sweet mother is another key for me. Writing letters to those who had passed over assisted me as well. Service helped get me moving and out of my head. And prayer:) Sending all the prayers and hugs to you.

Grounding, walks, prayers and listening to music seems to work for me

Allow yourself to feel but BE in the moment and mindful. Do an opposite action towhat emotion you are feeling. Your feelings are valid and real, but so IA choosing to make a life worth living. Start small, look at burning candle or waves of water for 5 minutes. If you can't do 5, do 1.
Anything is better than that drink/drug of choice
